Everybody keeps getting the wrong idea. Just because Ben are you are still friends does not mean you and him are dating, but your family doesn't seem to understand that.

"You okay?" Ben asked beside you. All sorts of thoughts were running through your mind. You conjured a smile and turned to him, "Yeah." After everything that has happened between you and him, you can't seem to understand why both of you were still friends. That never stopped you from keeping him away from your family.

You had gone to his car to have a mini make-out session with him, and now you were walking back to your house. Your mom was in the front porch waiting for you. "What took you so long?" she asked with a friendly tone. "Sorry Mrs. [L/n], I lost my wallet and we were trying to find it," Ben covered for the both of you. After all, both of you were only friends after the breakup.

"Oh okay, welcome Ben," she smiled at him and led both of you in. Everyone in the livingroom lightened up when they saw him enter the house. Junior, your little brother was playing on his phone like always. Your grandmother was always the happiest when he went to visit.

"So what's the occasion?" Ben inquired as he saw the some decorations set up and heard the music lightly playing in the background. "The end of summer," Junior unenthusiastically mentioned without breaking his gaze from his phone. He was always the little dick of the family. "Well Junior is starting 6th grade and you two are starting your junior year in college. I thought I could celebrate it a little," your mom mentioned.

You walked over to the dining room to get some chips, you couldn't hear Ben's response. When you were walking back to the living room you heard a glimpse of your grandma's conversation with Ben. "I'm glad you two are back together," she patted his arm. Ben nervously chuckled, "I wish that were the reality, but we're not together anymore."

"I never understood why," your mom joined the conversation. Ben took a long pause, "Some problems surfaced." You scoffed, nobody heard you or saw you since you hid behind a wall. "Seems like you two resolved your problem yesterday," Junior chimed in. That was your cue to join the conversation, "Junior, stop talking, grownups are having a conversation."

Ben had been over yesterday when everyone was gone, or so that's what you thought. Junior was home without you and Ben having a single clue. Ben was your ex, but he was also your friend with benefits.

He stopped playing his game to glare at you. Sometimes you hated that you and your brother were 10 years apart. He flipped you off and continued playing his game. "Hey be nice," your mother scolded. "Why?" he paused his game again. "Becuase she's your sister," your mom replied. "She's leaving anyway," he blurted out. "What?" your parents and Ben asked at the same time.

"Did you snoop through my stuff again?" you glared at him. "Don't leave your shit laying around," he snickered. "Alright go to your room," your mom directed to him. He stood up and left immediately. You took a seat on the couch and your mom swayed her attention to you. "What did he mean?" she questioned.

You nervously gulped, you wouldn't be able to hide the secret any longer, "I am leaving. I applied to a lot of scholarships to go study abroad." Everyone was stunned, including your grandma. "Where are you going?" your dad asked. You slightly looked at Ben then looked at your parents, "London." You could hear Ben sigh and put his head down.

"Why didn't you tell us?" your mom questioned. "I didn't want you to take care of the tuition for it. I've been saving money for it and the scholarships helped a lot," you replied. Everyone stayed uncannily quiet. "How long will you be gone?" Ben spoke up. "I was leaving for only a semester, but I was able to do both semesters," you looked him in the eye. It seemed like he wanted to say something else, but he didn't.

"So much for a party," Junior commented as he walked to the kitchen. You rolled your eyes at him. He came back with water and four opened beers. He passed the alcohol to your mom, dad, Ben, and you. "Now we can celebrate she's leaving," he winked at you and clinked his water with your beer.

You sly smiled and took a swig of the beer as well. You didn't want to seem enthusiastic that you were leaving for a year, but, god damn, you wished time could pass sooner so you could leave. "Where's my beer?" your grandma spoke up. Everyone confusingly looked at her, she was trying to lighten up the mood. "I'll get you butterbeer," you chuckled and stood up. Her comment did make everyone cheer up a bit.

Meanwhile, you went to the kitchen, your dad and Junior went outside. Your mom leaned to whisper in Ben's ear. "Have you talked to [Y/n] recently?" she questioned. Ben knitted his brows, "I had no idea she was leaving, she never told me any–"

"I'm not talking about that. She's been very different lately. After you two broke up, she's...having a lot of guys over," she paused for a while to find the right words. Ben seemed confused, but quickly realized what she was talking about, "Oh, I wasn't aware of that."

It's true, you've had a lot of guys over during the night and they all left immediately or in the morning. At first you were careful and made sure your parents didn't know, but then you cared less every single time there was a guy in a your bedroom. You wanted that conversation to stop so you stepped into the room. You looked towards Ben's direction but he wasn't looking at you.

After a couple of hours, the sun was setting and everyone had a full belly. Ben decided it was time to go and you were basically forced to accompany him out. While silently walking to his car, he stopped you, "[Y/n], what are we?" You knew this talk was going to come sooner than later, so you decided to be straight forward, "We're ex's that still fuck."

Ben scoffed and looked away. When he looked back at you, he sighed, "I thought we were a thing again or we didn't lose the connection. I thought you were only seeing me at the moment." It was your turn to scoff and role your eyes, "And that's what I thought when we were dating." He sighed again and gazed down to the floor, "I'm so sorry [Y/n], it was a huge ass mistake. I fucked up, and I'm owning up to my mistake. Ever since you broke up with me, I never want to have anyone expect you, but I see you don't think alike."

"Oh, but I did. Well at least before you let someone give you a blowjob at a fucking party," you glared at him. "I thought you forgave me," he solemnly gazed at you. "I thought I did, but that night could never leave my mind when I thought about you," you had a gruesome monotone. "Is that why you had sex with someone else when you gave me a second chance?" Ben threw the question at you. "You hurt me Ben, I wanted to hurt you back and maybe I took it too far," you simply said loosing the monotone.

"Maybe?" his tone changed to a louder and sarcastic one, "You fucked 3 guys when we got back together." You rolled your eyes, "This is why we aren't compatible." He scoffed, "Not compatible?" this time he said it with more anger in his tone. "What do you even mean? We were happy, we loved each other. We had plans to go study abroad so I could show you my home. We planned to go to London because we wanted to live together. I thought we both decided not to go when we broke up the second time, and now you're going," he went on a little rant.

Nothing was effecting you. You simply had the same straight face the whole time. After a few seconds he questioned you with no expression, "Why did you get in contact with me again." This time you replied, "We dated for a almost two years, my family started loving you as if you were part of the family. I got in contact with you so my grandma could see you once in a while."

"But why did you kiss me? Why have we been sleeping together again? Why after two months of not talking, you decide to spark my interest in you again?" he somberly questioned. You shrugged and told him, "I just missed how we fucked and your dick."

Ben covered his face with his hands and lost his somber tone, "So you've been using me just to have sex?" You had changed your tone to a more lighthearted one, but you still weren't effected by anything Ben said, "Yeah pretty much." Ben angrily looked at you, "You're unbelievable. Have fun in London." He continued walking to his car and didn't look back.
