Some women may experience itching and redness in the genital area after having sex with a condom.
This may be due to vaginal irritation caused by lack of moisture.
Sometimes, the reason is latex allergy - the body's enhanced sensitivity to the material that causes certain immune reactions.
There may be no manifestations at the first contact with latex, but repeated exposure may cause an allergic reaction.
- The skin at the site of contact with the latex turns red, and there is swelling and an itchy rash.
- Urticaria, runny nose, breathing difficulty, and anaphylactic shock take a more severe course and occur within a few seconds or minutes after contact.
If you suspect allergy, you should contact an allergy and immunology specialist as soon as possible.
