Sexual intercourse may be followe4d by unpleasant symptoms, such as itching and burning in the vagina, redness of the skin and mucous membranes, etc.
If these symptoms occur after every intercourse, this may indicate a fairly rare allergy to sperm.
The symptoms are either localized to the site of contact with the sperm, affecting the mucous membranes and skin, or generalized all over the body. These may include:
- edema, itching, burning of the skin and mucous membranes
- redness and soreness in the genital area
- dyspnea, breathing difficulty
- dizziness, weakness, etc.
This allergy may be hard to recognize because the symptoms are similar to those of vaginal infections. Only a doctor can make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe treatment.
