Authors POV

Nine months later October

Melissa was due any day now, though she was only having though it felt like she was having three considering her last two pregnancy's where twins and triplets. After coming home from there holiday, Chris went to speak to a therapist, he and his best friend started to advocate and advertise for their Campine to help youths and men and women in particular men to speak out about their health. Melissa was very much for it because he is a well know author and knew that people would listen to him. She also knew what it was like to feel alone, depresses and anxious. They had a test run and Melissa's school for all the boys to come into a room and speak up, and it was surprising to see how many turned up.In the past couple of weeks, Melissa wasn't doing too well they were in and out of hospitable. She has been a nervous wreck, being housebound she also started to feel depressed. Both Melissa and Chris decided to send all the kids to one of their parents so one; they wouldn't see their mother like she is and two; Chris could use get up and leave with Melissa and not have to worry about their other six kids.Melissa Sighed as she laid on the couch rubbing her belly, "Soon my darling" she whispered, and Chris looked up on his computer as he was designing a new graphic for his T-shirts, for his and Edwards IDONTMIND campaign."How are you feeling?" Chris asked his wife she tried to smile, but she hated this. "I feel like I am having twins," she said he chuckled "I hope not," he emphasised. Melissa shoot a glare at her husband.----------As the day went on, Melissa started to feel very uncomfortable, as she stared in her seat, Chris noticed this. "Babe, what's wrong, you look uncomfortable." She said "Come on, let's go for a walk around," he asked, stopping what he was doing. As she got up, she felt a sharp pain and winced. She was shaking her head, wanting to sit back down. "Come on, it will be good," he assures his wife."Chris, I think we need to go to the hospitable." She said as she Winced in pain again. "Ok, just walk around while I get everything ok," Chris said calmly yet he was freaking out since even if this was this four child together.Chris left everything like it was, as he put the bag in the car, making sure that everything was prepared in there throughout the week in case she went into labour. He came back in helping Melissa up as they walked to the car Melissa tried to stay as calm as possible.Melissa told Chris not to worry about dropping her off because she knew she was a long way from delivering their fourth baby together, and their 7th child. As they walked into the hospitable not only did one of the new and young nurses saw who was coming, she was extremely excited. If Perry weren't working, Pery the young nurse would race up to them and ask for their autographs not caring about Melissa being in labour. The middle-aged nurse saw she was pregnant and brought Perry out of her daze, making her do her duty "Can we get a wheelchair and ring the maternity ward please" the middle-age nurse asked politely with urgency while Perry the young nurse was still standing there in shock and in awe on who walked in. "Perry can do you do what I asked you to do," she asked the young nurse. "Um of course," she said, springing into action, ringing maternity as she asked another nurse to get a wheelchair.Melissa and Chris sat up in their room, letting their parents know that Melissa could be in labour, unsure of the possibilities, that lie ahead"Mr and Mrs Wood, good to see you again, your not due for another week," their nurse said. "yeah well looks like this one wants to come early like our last ones" Melissa stated wincing as another contraction came along. "Ok, Let's take a look," she said as she got to work at looking at Melissa."Well," she started as she took off her gloves. "You are two centimetres dilated your water hasn't broken, so these are your options, so you can stay here and be safe or go home, and when you water has broken, you can come back." She continued."Though I would suggest staying here," she explained, knowing Melissa's history. She continued "As know you delivering all your babies has gone from slow to quick in the space of a couple of hours" she finished explained to Melissa and Chris. The parents share looks and decided to stay."I'm going to go home and get a few extra things, did you want me to bring anything for you?" Chris asked Melissa. She shook her head, knowing that she wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything.———————Hours went by, Chris coming in and out with food that Melissa wanted and some nurses say not you can't have any food, though she didn't listen.Chris worked on more of his founding business IDONTMIND, while Melissa sat their scrawling through her phone and playing some games trying to not think of the pain.As contractions and pain became more frequent, her water hadn't broken. As Melissa let out a loud moan, Chris looked up, pushing away the table taking her hand. "Hey, I'm here," he said, kissing her head. "Babe it hurts, I feel like I need to push," she said. "Ok, let me get the nurse." He answered Melissa added slowly with her eyes closed, also in a lot of pain."What's happening now, Melissa," her nurse asked with sympathy, for the tenth time in the past hour. "I'm in pain, and I feel like I need to push" she explained with her head on the pillow closing her eyes "Is everything else ok?" She asked, worriedly as she pulled up the sheet, looking at her dilation. "I also have a massive headache" Melissa responded, rubbing her head, not being able to open her eye's from the bright light."Ok, so here is what's going to happen, your 5 cm dilated. We will give you some Panadol, and if in an hour your water hasn't broken we will have to brake it our to an emergency C section, its up to you what would you like to do?" The nurse asked "C -section" Melissa said groaning. "Ok so we can do it now, so let get some Panadol into you and get you numbed up." The nurse said as Chris started to clean everything up. Melissa looked at him with glossy eyes. He held her hand, kissing her.An hour later, Melissa's headache subsided, and they were in the birthing room, Chris was in scrubs that covered his clothes with a cute hat. Chris stood near Melissa's head as they cut her open. Chris looked at her and smiled as he whispered, encouraging words. Chris looked back smiling whispering in Melissa's ear, "I see our baby" he said"Congratulations its a boy," her nurse spoke the gender of their baby. As Chris looked at his baby boy, who is being wrapped up in a blue blanket, as the nurses quickly switched Melissa back up and one of the younger nursed placed their last baby boy in her arms."he's beautiful. Melissa said, smiling as their baby boy opened his eyes for the first time. His blue eyes sparkled. Chris kissed Melissa as they waited for the sheet to be taken down and pushed back into their room. 'Now we are going to take him to do a few tests, and you will have in no time" one of the nurses said. She only held him for a minute, and they were taking him away from him. "No what... What's happening," Melissa asked, worried "Hey, it's ok, they are just doing a few checks," Chris told his wife. She nodded as they took the sheet down, and only two nurses left in the room and, her baby boy nowhere to be seen "Where is he?" Melissa asked. "He is still being tested "We will bring him in right away Melissa. Do you think I would lie to you I have delivered all of your babies" her nurse said Melissa shook her head? "Take her back to the room and make sure that her baby boy is back with her right away." Her nurse said as she and Chris wheeled back into her room.————Half an hour later, Melissa nurse Jen and another nurse walked in with her baby boy which she was yet to name."So here is your baby boy," Jen said as the nurse handed him to her. "Have you thought of a name?" Jen asked Melissa, and Chris looked at each other nodding and smiling "Felix James Wood" Melissa said, looking into her boy's eyes. "Beautiful," she said, writing it down, "Now this is Felix's nurse Bec, I will leave you with her," Jen said, walking out. Melissa was left shocked "Is something wrong?" Chris asked before Melissa could even open his mouth. "He is healthy, though the reason why we took so long is so we could do extra test" she started "Please just tell us, we already have six kids, so we know how it works" Melis, a said annoyed knowing that Bec Felix's nurse is new, she didn't know how to start."He either might be deaf or not have sight, he wasn't responding to either of those tests," Bec told Melissa and Chris. "Can you please get one of the nurses that were in with you?" Chris asked "of course" she walking out of the room.Minutes later, a male nurse came in, "Mrs and Mrs Wood goo to see you again, how are the triplets?" He asked kindly having helped deliver and look after each other them while there were in the hospitable. "Good, thank you" Melissa replied with a smile knowing that John would say everything correctly and understand what is going on. "No I have resigned Bec to a different baby. She's is new so nothing is wrong, we were a little worried about this hearing and sight, however we are going to keep doing test while he is hear, also we want to keep watch of his breathing. Its nothing complicated and he is healthy, sometimes babies have that effect but that are all perfectly healthy in the end" John said as he looked down at Felix. "thank you so much John" Melissa said with a smile. "No worries just call if you start hearing wheezing, or if you have any question, and I will see when you can Felix can go home," he said with a sincere smile. "Thanks, John," Chris said, shaking his hand before he walked out to check on all the other babies and their mothers.
