Wendy went first, singing "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. I'll admit, she was good, but I was way better.

People applauded for her, and I just stood back and smirked. "Beat that, whore." She snapped. "Yeah, beat that!" Bebe joined in from the crowd. I rolled my eyes and handed my instrumental to Garrison who popped it in the speakers.

I nodded for him to play it, and there was a beep and I started singing.

"Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Just something about the boy

It's the verse in my head
The words that make me stutter
The swag in my step
The change from gray to color
A guaranteed bet
Oh, I found my lucky number
The feeling that you get
Can't help but make me wonder

No need to try
He's just right
He's got that something
I can't let nobody tell me no
No I don't mind
Takes me high
I won't stop until the boy is mine

He got me good
I've got it bad
He got me feeling like a girl gone mad
Got me running around like I'm a lovefool
Taking me down I can't stop
He got me up
I can't come down
He got me locked and I don't want out
I know he's playing my heart and I ain't got no choice
There's just something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
There's just something about the boy

It's the first time we met
The lightening to my thunder
The green light on red
The kiss that pulls me under
It's only for me
If you're the test I got the answer
And I'm all that you need
Now you finally get the chance to

No need to try
He's just right
He's got that something
I can't let nobody tell me no
No I don't mind
Takes me high
I won't stop until the boy is mine

He got me good
I've got it bad
He got me feeling like a girl gone mad
Got me running around like I'm a lovefool
Taking me down I can't stop
He got me up
I can't come down
He got me locked and I don't want out
I know he's playing my heart and I ain't got no choice
There's just something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
There's just something about the boy

I know you like to play it slow
But I'm running out of time
It's like I lost my self control
'Cause you are the one
And you know what you've done
My poor heart's come undone
Baby pleeeeeaaaasssseee!

He got me good
I've got it bad
He got me feeling like a girl gone mad
Got me running around like I'm a lovefool
Taking me down I can't stop
He got me up
I can't come down
He got me locked and I don't want out
I know he's playing my heart and I ain't got no choice
There's just something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
There's just something about the boy

Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Something about
Something about the boy
Just something about the boy!"

I did my best, and it was much better than anything Wendy did or could've tried. At the "baby please" I held my highest note for as long as I could while still staying in time with the instrumental.

Everyone applauded and I smiled over at Wendy. "Good luck, Wendy." I smiled falsely. "Who won?!" She demanded. "I think that's fairly obvious, Wendy." Garrison said.

"Sarah obviously won. The whole show. She won the whole damn thing." Garrison said and she stormed off the stage, throwing a fit and cursing my name.

I grinned and waved and took a bow, then I got the fuck off of the stage and went home with Kenny, cos I just wanted to kiss him so badly.

We got to my place and he sat on my bed as I took my shoes, jewellery, and makeup off. I changed in the bathroom to a large T shirt and shorts. I came back and climbed in bed with him, being daring and tangling our legs together. He looked over at me through messy blond hair without an orange hood and raised his eyebrow. I just bit my lip and batted my eyes at him.

Kenny leaned in and kissed me slowly, and it's all I wanted.
