Ella followed her home and they decided to make some lunch. They made some grilled cheese for tomato soup. It was a cold winter day, and they felt like eating something hot. Soon, the others arrived.
They had lunch together and waited for the time that Nina would go to her room.
"Are you coming too?" Anna asked Ella. "You're coming right?"
"Huh?" Ella asked, confused. "Oh you mean the party?"
"What party?" Nina asked, suddenly appearing. "Who's party?!"
"Party?" Anna said, trying to cover up. "No we weren't talking about any party!"
"Well I heard the word party," said Nina. "Come on guys, it's obvious..."
"What Ella meant was..." said Shasha, thinking quickly. "She said she wanted to go to Mana Pattaya! Yeah!"
"Whatever is Mana Pattaya?" Nina asked. "I know Pattaya is in Thailand, but what's Mana?"
"It's a painting studio in Pattaya," said Ella, playing along. "It's really good, I'm gonna go there soon."
"When?" Nina asked. "Anytime soon?"
"Next... month," said Ella. "I'm going there with my family."
"Oh okay," said Nina and went to her study to finish some work. "I need to do some work. Cheerio!"
"That was a relief," said Shasha. "See what I mean, Ella?"
"Yep," said Ella. "My mom always does that..."
"Mine too," said Shasha. "She's always appearing out of no where..."
"And mine too, as we just saw," said Steve. "I just wanna get the preparations done with."
"I guess your sister got it from your mom, then," said Ella, much to the other's surprise. "Wait... she is your sister right?"
"No..." said Steve. "She is my mother."
"Oh," said Ella. "She looks really young..."
"Are you aware that I'm his dad?" Adam asked suddenly. "Yep, I'm his father..."
"Okay I'm really confused now," said Ella. "How come you guys are so young? I need time to process this..."
"They were in cryosleep..." said Steve. "There, go process it now."
The others started laughing at what he just said. Ella's confused face was even funnier.
Soon, Ella went home. They spent the day just sitting around and playing games.
The next day, Jin had all of the party supplies delivered to the Mishima Zaibatsu Dining hall. He had the dining hall set up too, without the knowledge of Nina.
"All that's left for you to do is decorate the place," said Jin. "Everything is done."
"Got it," said Anna. "Thanks Jin!"
"You're coming with your family right?" Steve asked. "I'll invite Hwoarang too."
"And Miguel," Jin added. "He's actually a good guy, just really... feisty."
"That's true," said Steve. "That's what Hwoarang says too..."
"Well he isn't any different," said Anna. "Miguel had a reason to be feisty. Hwoarang on the other hand..."
"That idiot has no reason to fight actually," said Jin. "But then again, he was one of the only ones that made me smile when mom went missing."
"Aww poor Jin," said Jun, entering the room with a tray of snacks. "You missed me that much? I shouldn't have left..."
"Mom?" Jin said, seeing his mother. "You heard what I said?"
"Yes I did," said Jun, laying the tray on Jin's office desk and went over to hug Jin. "I shouldn't have done that to you. Can I meet Hwoarang? I've never really spoke to him before."
"Believe me, you wouldn't wanna do that," said Jin. "If he comes over, you'll have to do lots of cleaning after he leaves..."
"I'll see that he doesn't do anything of the sort," said Jun. "Come on, just invite him over this Sunday."
"Alright I will," said Jin. "Make sure he doesn't mess up."
"Can I come too?" Steve asked. "I wanna see what happens!"
"Fine you can come too," said Jin. "You're not that bad, compared to Hwoarang."
"What about me?" Adam asked. "I wanna see your penthouse!"
"Sure, just come, " said Jin. "Next you're gonna tell me that the girls are gonna come too."
"Maybe?" Anna said. "Maybe not. Nah."
"That's a relief," said Jin. "Luckily Xiao isn't coming over. She wouldn't let us spend time. Alright now get back to work. We've been talking too much..."
They worked and then the next day, right after work, Adam took Nina out for lunch to distract her.
"This is new," said Nina. "For the few months that we've been together, this is the first time you're taking me out for lunch after work."
"I just feel like I should take you out today," said Adam. "Just the two of us, for once."
"Alright then," said Nina. "What about the others?"
"They're having lunch at home," said Adam, putting an arm around Nina. "They decided to not interfere with our time."
This was a big fat lie, because the others were having their lunch at the Mishima Zaibatsu Cafeteria at that very moment. Shasha had come too, and they were all eating there, including Xiaoyu. Panda sat with her while getting bits and pieces from Xiaoyu. Jun and Amber were there too.
"Alright so dad has taken mom out for dinner," said Steve, eating some fish and chips. "She's safely tucked away there."
"Good," said Anna, forking some naporitan pasta. "They're gonna be away for a long time right?"
"Yes they are," said Shasha, eating Japanese curry chicken with her right hand, and a phone in her left hand. "Adam said that he's taking her to... the ice skating rink?"
"Ice skating rink?" Xiaoyu asked, eating char siew bao with some shrimp dim sum. "They're going ice skating? I should go there with Jin one day."
"But not this weekend," said Steve. "We're going on a guys' day out with Jin."
"Yeah but you're only going this Sunday," said Xiaoyu. "I'll go on Saturday."
Soon, they were done eating and they went to the dining hall. It was beautiful. Jin already had it set up, but not really decorated. Xiaoyu tied her hair back to get her hair out of the way. Jun and Amber had already made some nice word cutouts and paper decorations.
"Let's gat this started!" Shasha said while tying her hair back more tightly. "Okay how do we do it again?"
"We hang the drapes, and then the pennants," said Anna. "And then the red carpet."
"I don't see any red carpet here," said Xiaoyu, looking through the stuff. "Wait... there's a long roll of purple carpet though."
"So Jin actually ordered purple carpet," said Steve. "He knows mom really well."
They started decorating and it was hard. Not the decorating, but the decision of what goes where.
"I think it's better if we hang it in the middle, across the room," said Steve. "It would look better that way."
"Hmm..." said Anna. "Isn't it better if we hang it on the entrance? It would stand out better."
"Yeah but who's gonna read it?" Steve asked. "The ones who are leaving?"
"I think we'll put it in the middle," said Jun. "Come on, Amber. Help me hang it. These two don't seem to be doing it, so let's just do it ourselves."
Soon, they were finally done. They felt tired and sat down on the dining chairs there.
"Glad that's over," said Anna. "The place looks really good!"
"Yeah I know right," said Steve. "Our decorating paid off."
"Jin surely knows how to order the best decorations," said Xiaoyu. "He's the best!"
"Ordering the decorations isn't as hard as actually decorating," said Shasha. "Anyway, I think we should go back. We need time to change out of our casual clothes before Nina comes back home."
"Yeah you should," said Jun. "I can sense that they're almost done."
"Yeah they are," said Amber. "Adam just texted in the group saying so."
