"That was quick," Shasha said when she saw the others there. "You guys must've flown here!"
"Nah we didn't," said Nina. "We left earlier than you two did."
They rang the doorbell and Emma answered it. She invited them in. Leo was there too, now changed into a different outfit.
"Hey Emma," Nina greeted while entering. "How have you been?"
"I've been good," said Emma. "How about you?"
"We're good too," said Anna. "So I guess you're still working at G Corp?"
"Yeah but not as a prisoner," said Emma. "Kazuya is treating me better now."
"Okay what did I miss?" Adam asked. "It looks like I've missed a very big event."
"We'll tell you later," said Steve. "Thanks again for helping me escape, Emma."
"So you're the Dr Kliesen that helped Steve escape," said Adam, finally realising. "I have to thank you for it."
"Well I just had to," said Emma. "It just didn't feel right. Those experiments were deadly, and that lab is not the place for a little boy. I just had to do something."
Emma invited them to have dinner there. She was a good cook and they enjoyed her meal.
"This one's prepared by me," Leo said, serving a nice Black Forest cake to the guests. "I'm sure you're gonna love it!"
"I didn't know you were into baking," said Anna as Leo served her a piece of it. "But then again, I didn't even know you were a girl..."
"So my disguise was good then," said Leo, slicing the cake and serving it. Anyway, there's not much use for it now."
Leonard came in when they were dining. They had a conversation with them.
"So I'm guessing the two of you are brothers?" He asked, seeing Steve and Adam. "You may not look much alike, but your hair colour and the way the two of you act are alike."
The others started laughing while Steve started to stare at Adam, who stared back.
"We aren't brothers," said Steve. "He's my dad..."
"Oh," said Leonard, eyes wide. "But you look so young! What's your secret?"
"Cryosleep," Nina answered before he could. "We were both in cryosleep. That's how I conceived Steve."
"Wait so you're his mom?" Leonard asked in surprise. "Well, I thought you were his sister..."
"And I am his aunt," said Anna. "I was in cryosleep too."
"Okay I get it," said Leonard, surprised. "Don't tell me that you were in cryosleep too, and you're like thirty years older than Steve?"
"Nah I wasn't," said Shasha. "I'm naturally young. I'm younger than Steve."
"That's a relief," said Leonard. "Well I wouldn't be surprised is you were. All this Sci-Fi stuff that has been happening..."
They started laughing at what he said. The thing is, none of that was Sci-Fi. It was all real.
They had a good time and went home afterwards. The Kliesens even packed some food for them. Leo even gave them the rest of the Black Forest cake.
Oh you didn't have to," said Nina when she handed them the bag that had the cake. "You're the one that made the cake. You deserve to eat some too!"
"Oh don't worry about it," said Leo and then whispered. "I made another one."
They thanked the Kliesens and went home. They started discussing the plan while snacking on what they had.
"Pass me some of Leo's cake too," Adam told Shasha who was eating the cake. "I can't get enough of it."
She took a large slice and put it on her plate before passing the container to him.
"So what are we disguising again?" Adam asked, eating the cake.
The others started staring at him, making him surprised.
"What?" He said, still eating.
"Did you forget that you are the wardrobe manager?" Nina asked. "You're supposed to be planning out disguises."
"Oh yeah, right," said Adam, finally realising. "Wait let me wash my hands."
He ran out of room and came back after washing his hands.
"Why didn't you just use the spoon?" Anna asked. "I brought us five spoons for a reason, you know..."
"Oh yeah..." Adam said noticing the spoon on his plate. "Sorry about that."
"So about the disguises?" Steve said. "What are you gonna make me wear?"
"Wait let's see," Adam said, going towards his son. "Maybe I can do your hair differently?"
"Now that's a classic," Steve said. "Because it does make me look different."
"But not different enough," said Adam. "You need something else."
"Please don't say it's a moustache," Steve begged. "What if the adhesive fails?"
"Yeah that's true too," said Adam. "How about glasses?"
"Sounds good to me," said Steve. "Let's see, who's glasses shall I borrow?"
He looks around and his eyes stops at Shasha. She was the only one he knew that wears glasses besides Julia. And Dr Bosconovitch.
"You wanna spoil your eyes?" Shasha asked, raising her brow. "Well, remember this. If you wear lenses with high index that isn't yours, your eyes would end up like the owner's."
"I didn't say anything," said Steve. "We should get some fake glasses from... somewhere."
"I have one," said Adam. "It's an old pair of reading glasses. I don't need them now. We can just pop out the lenses and replace it with transparent plastic sheets or something."
"Wait one question," said Steve. "How old is it?"
"Quite old," said Adam. "I had eyesight problem when I newly awakened from cryosleep. But I have no idea how, but the problem just vanished after a year or two."
"Maybe as a side effect of when you were in cryosleep?" Nina asked. "Because, well I woke up with no memory."
"I must be lucky, then," said Anna. "Because I'm the one who woke up with no side effects."
Adam went to his room to get his old glasses. He popped out the lenses and showed it to Steve.
"It looks okay," said Steve, trying it on. "It doesn't look as old as I expected. How do I look?"
It was a thick frame glasses and it would be fairly easy to insert transparent plastic into the lens sockets. Steve didn't look so bad in it.
"You look good," said Nina. "And different. Wait I thought Hwoarang is supposed to come over?"
"He says he has his own disguising plan," said Steve. "He says he'll come here with the disguise and we wouldn't recognise him. I have no idea what he's gonna do."
"As long as he doesn't look ridiculous it's fine," said Anna. "But something tells me that he is gonna look ridiculous."
"I hope not," said Shasha. "But then again, if he really does dress ridiculous, Adam can fix him up. Right, Adam?"
"Right," Adam replied doubtfully.
