They were all waiting at the lounge for Mr Hitohara to arrive. So all of them just sat around talking to each other.
"Sup' dude," Hwoarang said, plopping down next to Miguel. "Where's Maria?"
"She's at home," said Miguel. "So you're here to represent Korea, huh?"
"Yeah," said Hwoarang. "The girls are here too."
"So basically most of us here are from the King of Iron Fist Tournament," said Miguel, looking around. "Anyway, wanna hit the bar later?"
"Sure!" Hwoarang agreed. "Steve?"
"No thanks," said Steve. "The last thing I want in this world is to go to a place that serves alcohol with you. I can go with anyone, but not you two."
"Why?" His two friends asked.
"Well, can you count how many bar fights have you two been involved in?" Steve asked, to which is two friends looked down in embarrassment. "I should have known..."
"Yeah we will go somewhere else," said Miguel. "How about the... can you guys suggest?"
"Well we are in Japan," Hwoarang said. "And what's Japan famous for? Technology! Wanna go to Kabukicho? There are many sci-fi stuff there!"
"Yeah I guess that's okay," said Steve. "I'm in."
Shasha was hanging out with the other girls. She found that they were more interested in each other and also in topics that's she wasn't familiar with.
Shasha POV
The girls were talking about some celebrities and other stuff trending now. Well, I've been living under a rock so I didn't really know about most things that they were saying. I'm not really interested in being trendy, so yeah.
"Have you seen Tim Tarsadian latest post?" Lili said. "He's gonna have his wedding on the moon!"
"Well, I haven't really heard of him..." I said sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm not really the trendy type."
"Yeah okay," said Lili and went on with her conversation. "So as I was saying..."
I decided to join the guys instead, but found that they were occupied and were talking with Miguel.
Well I guess I deserve this for ditching them in the first place. I guess I better find someone else to hang out with.
I scanned the area and saw a girl sitting down and flipping through a magazine. She was wearing a very revealing green and yellow shirt and black shorts. She was alone, just flipping through a magazine.
I decided to approach her.
"Hi," I said, sitting down next to her.
"Oh hi," said the girl.
"Where are you from?" I asked.
"Brazil," she said.
"Oh okay," I said. "By the way, I'm Shasha. I'm from Malaysia, a country in Southeast Asia."
"Oh nice to meet you," the Brazilian said, putting the magazine back on the end table. "I'm Christie by the way."
She looked very familiar. I felt like I've seen her somewhere.
"Wait, have we met?" I asked, trying to remember where I last saw her. "Oh now I remember! You're Christie Monteiro! We met at the King Of Iron Fist Tournament last year!"
"Oh yeah, you actually won right?" Christie said and I nodded. "Congrats!"
"Thanks," I said. "Your moves were impressive. Capoeira right?"
"Yes," said Christie. "Wait you won against that guy right?"
She was pointing to Steve. She must've stayed to watch the tournament till the end.
"Yeah," I said. "That's Steve Fox."
"Is he Nina's son?" Christie asked. "You seem to be good friends with him."
Yikes what's up with her? I'm beginning to get this strange vibes about her.
"Um I'm not really sure," I said, sensing a suspicious aura within her. "Why don't you ask him?"
"Well, no thanks," said Christie. "Anyway, do you know anything about Jin? Because I heard you actually needed to go and meet Jin directly to join the tournament. We were invited."
Wait now she wants to know about Jin? Why does she need to know? She seems suspicious...
"Jin?" I said, again sensing the suspicious aura within the Brazilian girl. "No I don't really know. I just met him, joined the tournament and left. I only met him again during the tournament."
"Oh okay then," said Christie. She looked disappointed and continued to read the magazine.
I picked up a magazine too and just stared at it. I was thinking of why Christie was acting suspicious.
This Christie person is acting very suspicious. Wonder what she has with Jin and Steve...
Although I was holding the magazine, I wasn't actually reading it. I was wondering what this Christie person wants.
I was so engrossed in thinking about this that I didn't notice someone calling me. I looked up from the magazine and saw a woman wearing a red sleeveless dress. The dress had snake-like designs. She wore red gloves and light black stockings. She had mid length wavy black hair.
Judging by her looks, I'm guessing she's Middle Eastern.
"Oh my gosh I didn't see you," I said. "Sorry, I was too engrossed with the magazine."
"Well yeah I saw and noticed that you were very interested in staring at that picture of makeup," she said to my dismay. "But could I speak to you for a moment?"
"Sure I guess," I said, getting up and putting the magazine back on the table.
"Can we go somewhere private?" She asked. "I mean somewhere else besides here."
I agreed and she led me to another spot in the lounge. We sat down and I asked her why she wanted to see me.
"Okay my name is Zafina," she said. "I'm from Egypt. I noticed that you were talking to that Brazilian girl over there."
"Yes I was," I said. "She was acting really suspicious. By the way, I'm Shasha."
"I know," said Zafina to my surprise. "I've heard of you. I called you here to talk about this Christie person. I sensed a very menacing aura within her."
"M-Menacing?" I asked in shock. "What is she up to?"
She was about to tell me, but Mr Hitohara arrived. We went to the meeting room so that he could tell us what this was all about.
We sat and he told us about what the advertisement was all about. Apparently, a client wanted an ad for diversity, so he called us here. It was to promote some rich guy's business. Some drink company that goes by the name RefrshiGordo...
I looked around for Ella and didn't see her. Well...
He said that the shooting starts tomorrow. Well, there goes my Sunday...
He talked like what seemed like forever. I was already beginning to be sleepy. I was bored and realised that Christie was sitting on the opposite side. I don't know why but I got the urge to snap a picture of her, and I did.
The meeting finally ended and we left the meeting room.
"Hey Shasha," Steve called me suddenly. "Could you take my car home? I'm going out with the guys in Miguel's car. Do whatever you want with the car but don't lose it, don't scratch it, don't dent it."
"Steve, this isn't the first time I'm taking your car," I said. "Just give me the keys."
He did and waved off and went with the guys. So I just got triple ditched today...
I was about to leave, but Zafina caught me.
"Hey can I speak to you," she said, pulling me aside. "This place isn't so safe, can we go somewhere else?"
"Sure come with me," I said. She looks as if she could be trusted, and she has this peaceful aura about her.
We went to Steve's car and she got in next to me.
