Adam lost the first round. The second round however, Lars lost. The third round was the most intense, and their fingers were getting sore.
"You know what song would go perfect with this?" Kazuya asked suddenly. "Only one song, and that's Heat Haze Shadow."
He played the song on his phone while the two were still concentrating.
Both of their health gauges were close to empty. Lars was about to execute Alex's Critical Art when Adam ended the match with a Sonic Boom.
"Whoaaaaa....." said Steve. "Go dad!"
"Whoa I won!" Adam said, surprised with himself. "Wow! I can't believe it! I won!"
"Congratulations!" Hwoarang said. "You beat the legendary Lars who somehow managed to block all Hadoukens!"
"You sound like the announcer from KOF," said Jin. "That guy says everything full of enthusiasm."
Hwoarang said Congratulations in KOF style again and again for a few times, making everyone laugh.
"But the Tekken announcer is good too," said Kazuya. "He says everything in a very... official manner."
"Yeah," said Jin. "They're both good."
They then decided to go to the balcony and have some of Jun's homemade cupcakes and juice.
"This is really nice," said Steve. "The view is awesome!"
"Yeah!" Hwoarang said. "I feel like skydiving."
"No, you're not gonna jump off my balcony," said Jin. "If you wanna do that, go do it somewhere else."
"Yeah like at the top of the volcano!" Steve said, but received a smack from his dad. "What? I was only joking!"
"Hey that gives me an idea!" Hwoarang said. "Let's go skydiving next weekend!"
"Not inside the volcano..." said Jin, annoyed. "You wanna die?"
"No not in the volcano..." said Hwoarang, annoyed. "I meant we can actually go skydiving. Won't it be cool?"
"I think you should bring your dad," Steve said to Jin. "So that he can complete the Mishima Legacy of throwing his son off something."
"Actually that's a really good idea," said Jin. "I should do it to him too!"
"So you did inherit it!" Steve said with a mockingly shocked expression. "He inherited it!"
"Inherited what?" Jin asked, confused.
"Aww don't act like you don't know!" Hwoarang said, teasingly. "It's the 'Mishima throw someone off a high place' gene."
They continued talking, and it was decided that they all go skydiving the next Saturday. Kazuya was gonna go with them too.
"Hey, don't tell Master Baek okay?" Hwoarang said seriously. "If he knows that I'm fooling about with you two, I'm done for!"
"Well in that case," said Adam, pulling out his phone. "I'm gonna call him right now!"
Adam was pretending to dial when Hwoarang just snatched his phone and was about to flung it off the balcony. But Jun stopped him with her powers.
"Alright alright," said Hwoarang. "Here you go. But please, don't tell Master Baek! He'd make me do a thousand push-ups every morning for an entire year!"
"Oh poor Hwoarang," said Steve with mocking sympathy. "Master Baek would make you do push-ups. How sad!"
"Sometimes I wonder," said Jin. "How are both of you even my age. You're acting like little kids!"
"Well you're acting like a grandpa," said Hwoarang. "You act as if you're older than Master Baek!"
"Haha very funny," Jin said with sarcasm.
"But it's actually true," said Steve. "You sometimes act as if you're older than my father!"
"Say what?" Adam asked suddenly. "I heard something about me?"
"Well yeah," said Jin. "This guy's a crackhead. Anyone can act older than him..."
"But you act older than your own dad too!" Adam said. "He's way better to talk to, compared to you..."
Adam was having a chat with Kazuya and Lars while these three were planning the skydiving trip.
"See Jin," said Kazuya. "I'm a cool dad!"
"A cool dad that wanted to kill his own son," said Lars, but received a smack from Jun. "What is it, Oneesan? You know it's true. Girl, you know it's true!"
"I think I'll go prepare lunch with Amber," said Jun. "It's already lunchtime."
She went to the kitchen with Amber when suddenly Hwoarang's phone rang. The ringtone was the main theme of The Good The Bad and The Ugly by Ennio Morricone.
"Yo what's with the song?" Steve asked. "I didn't know you were into music like this! It so doesn't suit you..."
"Yeah but it certainly suits Master Baek," said Hwoarang, showing his phone to the rest. "It's him..."
"Oh good luck..." said Jin. "You're in for it!"
Hwoarang gulped and picked up the phone.
"M-Master Baek?" Hwoarang said fearfully.
He flinched as the others heard a muffled growl from Hwoarang's phone.
"I'm with the guys," said Hwoarang. "Yeah and Jin."
Hwoarang flinched even further because Baek was shouting at him over the phone. He still had a grudge against Jin for hospitalising Hwoarang two years ago.
Jin motioned for Hwoarang to give the phone to him. Hwoarang shook his head in horror. Jin just snatched the phone from him and put it in speaker mode. He was about to speak but flinched too because Baek was shouting.
"Master Baek?" Jin said finally, to Baek's surprise. "Can I speak to you for a minute?"
Jin put the phone on speaker mode.
"Who is this?" Baek asked. "You're definitely not Hwoarang."
"It's me, Jin," Jin said. "Jin Kazama."
"You!" Baek exclaimed and started shouting at Jin. "How dare you beat up my disciple until he wound up in the hospital? What did he ever do to you? I know he can be a pain in the neck sometimes, but he's just a boy! How could you beat a boy up like that?!"
Despite the fact that Baek just called Hwoarang a pain in the neck, he didn't say anything to his defence. Jun came out of the kitchen to see what was going on.
"Sir, I'm just as old as Hwoarang is..." Jin said. "We're the same age."
"I thought you were at least in your late twenties," said Baek. "Anyway, I can't let my disciple go out with a devil!"
"Hey!" Kazuya said. "It's not his fault he has the Devil Gene!"
"Yeah but it's certainly his fault that Hwoarang met an accident on the highway," said Baek. "That was pure evil!"
"Jin, just give me the phone," said Jun and took the phone away from him, leaving the guys confused. "Let me speak to him."
"Okay mom..." said Jin.
"Just you wait," said Kazuya. "She'll brainwash him."
And he was right. Only a minute later, Jun came back into the room, smiling.
"Here you go, Hwoarang," said Jun, handing his phone back to him. "He's still on the phone."
Hwoarang shuddered as he put his phone against his ear with a shaking hand.
"M-Master Baek?" Hwoarang said fearfully, but his expression changed. "Really? You're letting me? Thank you Master!"
He hung up and smiled as he put his phone away.
"What did you tell him, auntie?" Hwoarang asked. "How did you convince Master Baek?"
"Well, I just told him the truth," said Jun. "Nothing but the truth. I told him how Jin regrets his mistakes, and it was all against his will. He understood, and said he knew what it feels like too."
"Wow..." said Hwoarang, mesmerised. "So you struck the right cord. Thanks auntie."
"You're welcome, Hwoarang," said Jun. "So now that that's solved, you guys wanna have lunch? I just realised that it's way past lunchtime."
"Well I already realised it ages ago," said Kazuya, and then there was a growl from his stomach. "What? The last time I ate was breakfast!"
"Lunch is ready!" Amber shouted from the kitchen. "Come on guys!"
"Oh she finished cooking without me," said Jun. "Come on everybody!"
