Party flashback

"Actually how did you guys managed to plan the party behind my back?" Nina asked. "Like, it was all so sudden..."
"Well..." said Shasha. "We can't tell you."
"Oh come on," said Nina. "If you do, then I'll buy all of us ice cream!"
"Fine..." said Steve. "You got me at ice cream. Here's what happened."
They alternated and told Nina everything.
Steve POV
The caterer called to tell me that they have arrived with the food.
"Hi sir, the food has arrived," said the caterer.
"I'll be there in a minute," I said.
"But sir, we're kinda in a rush," the caterer said. "Can we set them up at the dining hall?"
"Yeah you can set them up there," I said.
"Okay sir," said the caterer. "It's on the first floor right?"
"Yeah it is," I said. "Thanks."
I hung up and was about to call auntie and dad to tell them that the food have come. Just then, I heard mom's voice behind me. I almost jumped out of my skin as I turned around.
"Hey Steve," Mom said. "Could you help me with something?"
"What is it mom?" I asked. "What do you need help with?"
It's gonna be the paperwork. Yep. I can just smell it. Also, she's holding a sheaf so yeah...
"Oh it's these paperwork," mom said. "There's too much of it, and I'm already having a headache."
And I was right...
"Oooooohhhhh," was all I managed to say. "Sorry about that, mom. I have some work to do. Jin gave me a ton of work too, because he says today is special for some reason."
Mom groaned.
"Oh come on," she said. "Your work can't be that much, mine's worse!"
"Nope it's kinda worse than yours," I lied. "Jin's asking me to run some errands or something."
"That's new," Mom said, thinking. "He never asked me to run his errands..."
"That's because you're his bodyguard/ assistant," I said. "Not marketing manager."
"Fine, I'll try and finish them myself," said mom, turning to leave. "I think it's best that you start with Jin's errands now."
"Yeah I will," I said. "Bye mom! Good luck with your work!"
She left. Phew, that was close...
I went down and saw that the caterers were loading the food into the dining hall. They smelled good. Jin was there too, with his family and the other guests. Auntie and dad weren't here yet. I went over to Jin.
"I had a narrow escape..." I said. "She suddenly came to me and asked me to help her with the paperwork..."
"What did you say?" Jin asked. "Did you help?"
"No of course not!" I said. "I said that you gave me some errands, and I have to do them first."
"Smart move," said Jin. "So you just put the blame on me..."
"Do I have a choice?" I asked with a shrug. "Anyway... I wonder how auntie Anna and dad are doing..."
Anna POV
It was a good thing I wore my party dress to work today. I wore a blazer on top of it to make it look more professional for work. When the time comes, I'm just gonna take the blazer off.
Steve texted me to say that he's already there with Jin and the others. He also warned us that Nina is going around asking people to help with her paperwork.
Okay now that's alarming...
I should go now, before she comes to me! I forgot to put my gift in the dining hall this morning so I'm gonna take it with me now. I left it under my desk, between my drawers and table top.
I was about the take it out and run to the dining hall, when Nina suddenly showed up.
I quickly pushed it back in and grinned at Nina.
"Heeeyy Nina!" I said. "What brings you here ere now?
"Well, Jin gave me a ton of work," said Nina. "Could you like help me with some?"
Uh oh... must think up a reason to get away from it...
"Oh no I can't do that!" I said. "Jin asked me to go to the gadget lab for something."
"For what?" Nina asked. "Why does he want you there?"
Just like Nina to stick her nose where it doesn't belong...
"He said he wants me to design some... spy outfit," I said. "He said he wants the outfit to look fashionable and inconspicuous or something."
"Wait what?" Nina asked, confused. "Why? Are you the gadget designer or something?"
"Nah," I said. "Jin just wants some ideas. Now if you would excuse me..."
"Oh right," Nina said, going towards the door. "I'll be going now."
She left the room and slammed the door shut. Yikes...
So I quickly took the gift and peeked outside to see if Nina was still there. She was. She was walking down the hall, towards Adam's office. She just opened the door and went in. Oh I hope Adam doesn't blow our cover...
I went down and found the others there. They were already waiting and Adam was the only one that hasn't arrived yet, besides Shasha and Ella.
Adam POV
I was wrapping the gift I got for Nina when I got a bunch of texts.
Steve: U guys!
Steve: Beware of Mom!
Anna: Y?
Steve: She's going around, asking if we could help her with paperwork!
Anna: Uh Oh...
Me: We're screwed!
Anna: No
Anna: U'RE screwed
Anna: U can't make a good excuse!
Me: I'll try!
Steve: Good luck!
I put my phone away and quickly started wrapping the gift. It was the dress. I was so engrossed with my task, that I didn't hear the door close as Nina entered.
"Hey Adam," Nina said and I gasped and turned around, trying to block the stuff on the table. "What are you doing?"
N- Nothing," I said, trying to hide the gift. "What are you doing here? Is there anything I can do for you?"
"Yeah there is," Nina said. "Can you help me with my work? There's too much to do! I got a headache trying to do them because the dumb system kept hanging!"
Seriously, how much work did Jin give her till she got a headache? Poor Nina... but it's all for the best. Okay now I have to think up a way to avoid this...
"Oooooh sorry about that," I said. "But I have lots of work to do."
"Well, it didn't look like you were doing work when I came in," Nina said, eyeing me suspiciously. "It looked like you were doing some art project or something."
Uh oh... what should I say? Let's try something...
"Yeah I was," I said. "Jin asked me to prepare some... goodie bags for an important meeting that he'll be having tomorrow."
"What kinda meeting?" Nina asked. "He didn't tell me anything."
Oh no... I think I should just pretend I don't know why Jin didn't tell her.
"Oh really?" I said, scratching my head. "Well I don't know why he didn't tell you, but yeah. That's why he gave us tons of work to do. Maybe because he gave you the office work so that you can finish it fast, while we do the preparations?"
"I don't know," Nina said. "Maybe?"
After that she just thanked me and left. Phew that was a close one...
I quickly finished wrapping the gift and hid it under my coat. I went down and saw that I was kinda the last one.
"Took you long enough," said Jin. "Did you encounter Nina?"
"Yep," I said. "She came in the middle of me wrapping my gift! I told her I'm making goodie bags for an important meeting and bolted!"
"And as usual you put the blame on me," said Jin. "Anyway, you're the last one to arrive..."
Just then, the door slammed open and Shasha came in with Ella.
"Well at least I'm not the last," I said. "They are!"
