As the snuck out of the restaurant, Cali couldn't help but think it was an entirely bad idea. But then again Rosalina seemed to act as though she knew what she was doing. Plus, she promised that it would only be for an hour. Beside, Rosalina was probably right. This was likely something they both needed.Rosalina grabbed her hand, as they ran out the back door. Cali had to admit, there was something thrilling about the whole thing. Soon both of them were laughing like a couple of adolescent school girls.
"Shh.." whispered Rosalina as she continued to giggle. "We don't want the Neanderthals to hear us. We're laughing like crazy, and we haven't even had a drink yet."
"Where are we going?" Cali whispered back to her.
"There's a nightclub down the street." Rosalina replied. "We'll just go there real quick."
As they made their way down the alley, Cali couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable. It wasn't exactly the ideal place to be, especially at night, just the two of them alone. Maybe it would have been better it the goon squad had come along?
However, as they made their way to the street, things seemed a lot livelier. And sure enough the night club was right there. Rosalina looked at her, and smiled.
"Well, this is it." Rosalina told her "What do you think?"
"Well, I guess it looks like any other club in America." Cali replied.
"Good." Said Rosalina. "Then you'll feel right at home." Unlike Rosalina, Cali was an introvert. Places like this, even back home, were not her thing. Although she did like to dance, but she just wasn't in the mood. As they walked through the front door, almost every man seemed to be staring at Rosalina. It would have made Cali uncomfortable, but Rosalina seemed to be enjoying the attention.
As they made their way to the bar, the crowd began to part, just as Moses had parted the Red Sea. Every hungry man was eyeing Rosalina like a piece of raw meat. As they sat down, everyone continued to stare at Rosalina. She was starting to understand why Gabriel had her watched so much.
"Every man in this bar is checking you." Cali told her.
"Wrong dear." Replied Rosalina. "They're checking us out. You look fabulous tonight! If I do say so myself. If there is one thing I know, it's about how to look good. And you are my masterpiece."
"May I help you Mademoiselles?" The bartender asked as he smiled. "What can I get you two enchanting ladies this evening."
"Um, I'll have a French Martini." Rosalina told him.
"Excellent." The bartender replied, as he then turned his attention towards Cali. "And you, Mademoiselle?"
"Oh, um, I don't know." Said Cali. "I'm not really much of a drinker."
"She'll just have the same as me." Rosalina replied with a smile. "How much?"
"Don't worry." The bartender replied with a smile. "The two gentlemen at the end of the bar already took care of it."
Cali was shocked as she notice the two strange men smiling back at them.
"I can't remember the last time I paid for a drink." Rosalina whispered. As both men continued to smile at them, the two men made their way towards them.
"I don't like this." Said Cali. "I think we should go."
"Relax, we're not staying long." Rosalina replied.
