You stopped in the middle of the hallway, having a hard time breathing. You had lost your friend in the middle of the crowd and there was too many people for your comfort. She had meant to be holding your hand so neither of you could separate from the other but someone had bumped into the two of you and seperated you. While trying to catch your breath, lots of people are bumping into you, slowly pushing you out of the crowd until you're no longer surrounded by people. Still, it's impossible for you to catch your breath or force yourself to recenter yourself.
Katie had just walked through the doors to get to the Supergirl panel when she spots you. Seeing that you're alone and that no one was offering to help you, she stops security and redirects them to you.
"Hey, it's going to be okay. Breathe with me, sweetie."
Security blocks off the two of you so no one can openly stare while Katie gets you to calm down. Following her breathing, it takes you a couple of minutes to return back to normal. You give her a small, grateful smile.
"Thank you, it usually doesn't get this bad. My friend is usually with me but we were separated."
You weren't sure why you were explaining yourself to this woman but she didn't seem to mind your oversharing.
"Maybe I can help you find her? I mean just so you don't get another panic attack. I wouldn't want for you to be alone again if it happens."
"Are you sure? I'm sure you have somewhere to be?"
"It can wait. Your health is important. So where were the two of you going?"
You were too focused on the woman to notice that security was following the two of you.
"Well we were rushing to the Supergirl panel, apparently it started at 4:00. It doesn't start for another couple of minutes so I think she'll probably wait for me outside or something."
Katie raises her eyebrow at you, a little confused about how you hadn't mentioned or name or the fact that she was part of the cast but she doesn't say anything. It intrigued her.
"Have you seen this show?"
She asked while the two of you made your way to said panel, unbothered by the crowd of people thanks to the security that were blocking off everyone.
"No. I hardly have time to watch TV. I hardly even had time to come to this con but my friend begged for me to come and I just couldn't say no to her."
Katie laughs and nods.
"Totally understandable. I'm the same with my friends."
The two of you continue talking about random things until you spot your friend from a distance.
"That's her! Thank you so much for helping me earlier and making sure that I'm not alone it happens again. That was sweet of you."
Katie's cheeks turn a light shade of pink at the compliment.
"It's no problem, honestly....um could I give you my number? Just in case you separate from your friend and you don't have anyone to call."
You give her a smile and nod quickly while handing her your phone. She quickly makes a new contact and hands it back to you.
"Feel free to give me a call anytime. It was really nice to meet you (y/n)"
"It was nice to meet you too, Katie."
She waves you goodbye and disappears through a door that you hadn't noticed. You finally turn to walk back to your friend that had been waiting by the entrance.
"Come on! They're starting!"
She grabs your hand and drags you inside the panel. It hasn't started so the two of you had a chance for a quick talk while the cast walked in.
"So she gave me her number and left..."
Your friend quiets you and then apologizes before she starts clapping and cheering for the cast. You join in on the cheering, not wanting to be judged by the fans. You stop your clapping when you spot Katie with the rest of the group. Your eyes widen, and feel yourself get red when you notice that Katie had been looking straight at you with a smirk. You gulp loudly and tug your friend's sleeve.
"Jess! That's the woman who came to helped me with my panic attack."
Your friends quickly sits down besides you, looking between the two of you.
"Holy shit."

'Why didn't you tell me that you were in the cast?! I made a fool out of myself.'
You texted her as soon as the panel finished. It's not for another few minutes when you get a text back.
'You did not make a fool out of yourself. I think it was cute that you didn't know that I was part of the cast. How about I make it up to you for not being completely honest...dinner?'
'There's nothing for you to make up for but I'd love to join you for dinner.'
