"(y/n)! It's just a little needle. It's not going to hurt."
"That's what you said about the last few tests. I don't trust you when it comes to needles."
Lena sighed and dug through her drawers, pretending to search for a different needle. There was no way she could get a smaller one as this was the smallest size she had.
"Here, I managed to find one for kids."
She makes a big deal about switching the needle and then shows it to you.
"See, it's much smaller now. Can I do the test?"
You looked down at the needle and then towards the trash can. Surely, Lena wouldn't lie to you about changing the needle. Rolling up your sleeve, you held out your hand for Lena to take. Lena sighs in relief when you're not longer protesting.
"I promise to make this quick."
You nod, close your eyes and turn away so you wouldn't pass out from the pain. Lena rolls her eyes, not understanding how you could deal with much worse pains but not a simple needle.
At the slightest prick, you pull your arm back to you and jump off of the table, surprising Lena.
"That hurt!"
"Darling, I didn't even slide the needle in. I hadn't even cleaned the skin."
You looked to Lena, finding that she was still holding the wipe. God, you really hated needles.
"Do we really have to do this? Can't we just skip this test and head home?"
"Nope. We can't go home until we get this done. This is important."
You pouted at her, hoping she would change her mind but she wasn't budging. You crossed your arms and glared at her. Again, hoping that this might work but nothing. Lena just raises her eyebrow at you in question.
"If we have to stay here all night then we will. We need to get this test done."
"Lena, pleaseeee. Don't you love me? Don't you want to keep me from any kind of pain?"
Lena stood up and walked to you, wrapping her arms around your neck. Her eyes dart down teasingly to your mouth. She was up to something but you were too focused on wanting to kiss her to realize what she was doing.
"I love you, (y/n). It's just a tiny prick. It'll be over before you know it."
Her voice dropped to a low husk. The same once she used before the two of you spent hours in the bedroom. You gulp loudly, powerless to do anything. She had you where she wanted you.
"O..okay."
She smiles and gives you a quick kiss.
"Good. Sit down on the bed for me."
You follow her orders and give her your arm again. The cold wipe makes you tense but neither of you say anything. A second later and you feel the slight prick and then it's gone.
"There! All done!
You were pouting as you stayed seated.
"You cheated."
"Oh, you should've known that I wasn't going to play fair. You've been dating a Luthor for a year now. You know better."
She finishes with your sample and slides them into a machine for them to be tested.
"Here's a lollipop for your bravery. Now lets go home."
You glared at her for her mocking tone but still grabbed the lollipop. You weren't going to miss out on your favorite.
