'I FEEL SOMETHING SO RIGHT, DOING THE WRONG THING'

Laying on my bed, I felt my phone vibrate next to me before I smiled to myself. My insides turned in an excited way as I reached for it, my hands reaching around on the blankets before grabbing it and bringing it up above my head.

Looking at my screen, I saw I had a new message notification. Pressing on the home screen, my phone unlocked before I tapped on the messages, a smile creeping around my face as I read the text.

Mick - When I get my hands on you, you're going to pay for what you've done.

Raising my eyebrows, I couldn't help but smile to myself. I knew exactly what I had done but when I typed my reply out I acted innocently.

Me - What? What do you mean? Bx

Locking my phone, I place it back at my side as I turned on my front and giggled to myself.

"You are so much trouble, Beau," Mick rolled his eyes as he flopped down on the other end of the corner sofa and looked over at me. "Gina was not impressed with that cake you dropped by," he told me with a laugh. "Lets just say, you are on here hit list."

I couldn't help but laugh at his words, "It's just a little pay back." Leaning further into the scatter cushions behind me, I smiled as I relaxed more. "After she was the one to bring me a bag of salt instead of sugar when I was doing that big dinner for my parents."

Mick sighed, "You two have to cut this prank war out. Someone is going to get hurt or upset about something sooner rather than later."

Turning my head, I looked over at him. "Don't worry about it," I waved him off as I stared at his face. "You're just jealous because I've been spending time with your sister and not you."

"Oh, give over, Beau," Mick threw a cushion over in my direction. "If you want to spend more time with my sister then go ahead, I won't miss you."

My mouth flew open at his words and the way he spoke them with a touch of seriousness. "Mick?" I sounded shocked as I put a hand over my chest. "That's not very nice," I thought to my bag which held the contents for my next prank. I had thought about swinging by to Gina's on the way back home but Mick was definitely going to be my next victim.

"No, no," he waved me off as he looked away and to the television as he kept his face straight. "I can see when I'm not wanted."

Letting out a groan, I pushed myself up from his sofa, his eyes meeting mine as I pulled my jacket over my arms. I couldn't help but let a small smirk cross my lips for a second before he spoke. "You're not seriously going, are you?"

Wrinkling my nose, I sighed, "I have some where to be. I have this friend who doesn't want me hanging around at his house," I tugged on my zipper before I looked back at him. "So, I'm going to hang out with his sister."

He was quick to throw a second pillow at me which hit me in the stomach as I was too slow to grab it. "Don't go, beau," he whined as he looked up at me.

"Seriously, I have stuff to do. I have that interview in a few days, I'm not even ready," I picked up the cushion which I threw back to him gently. "Unless you want to come shopping with me?"

Mick shook his head, his blonde hair moving slightly as he did, "No thanks. You do realise you are going to ace this interview and get this job, right?"

I raised my eyebrows, "Unless you can see the future or you know the person who is doing my interview, I doubt you know what is going to happen."

He got to his feet, placing his hands on my upper arms as he held me in place, "I don't need to know any of that. I know you," he smiled at me. Brushing my hair away with my eyes, he winked before he kissed me on the cheek, "You have this, beau."

My eyes stayed on him the whole time before I smiled at him, "Thanks, Mick."

His hands let me go, the warmth from his touch leaving my arms as he stepped back, "Now get out of here. I want to hear all about this job interview as soon as possible," he told me in a cheery voice.

When I left his home, although he'd been tender and sweet with me before I left, I remembered the items I held in my bag. Pranking Gina was fun, I didn't know how Mick would take it but I was willing to see. Opening my handbag, I reached inside for the stickers, unpeeling them I stuck them on the side of his most prized car on the drivers side before I smiled to myself leaving his property.

It wasn't long before I heard banging on my front door, I got up before making my way to the door. Pulling it open, I found myself face to face with an angry looking Mick.

"What have you done?" He asked me his normal calm demenour gone as he snapped at me. "My father brought me this car!"

"Mick-" I tried to cut in before he was quick to cut me off again.

"Look," he grabbed my wrist, my eyes widening as he dragged me to his car.

I started to panic, I hated the restricting grip he held on me as I pulled away but to no avail. He pushed me in front of his car, my eyes on the place where I had but the stickers but they were gone. There was nothing there, turning back to look at him, I furrowed my brows before he stepped closer to me.

He got close to me, his face coming closer and closer before he put his mouth next to my right ear. "You've started something you can't win," his voice was a whisper, his body was close to mine.

Shivers ran down my spine as I listened, I wanted to say something in return but I found myself frozen.

Mick moved his head away from my ear, his eyes staring straight into mine. "But you already know that," he told me with a smirk as he looked down at my lips. His right hand moved up, his forefinger stroked down my arm as he watched my reaction. "Be prepared, Beau," he told me before he kissed my cheek. "Like I said, you're going to pay, Beau."
