Bonnie and Matt sat at one of the tables in the Grill and Matt was talking incessantly about Elena. Typical. "How's Elena doing?" "Her mom and dad just died, how do you think?" Bonnie replied. "She's putting on a good face, but it's only been four months." "Well, she must be doing better now because she's been hanging out with Dean for half the summer," he spat, causing Bonnie to lift her brow. "Is something going on between them?"

"Oh, no," she rebuffed immediately. "So not getting in the middle of that. You pick up the phone and call her."

Dean finally parked the Impala in the lot in front of the Grill and let his head fall back against the back of the bench seat. After the close call he had with Damon in the woods, Dean really just wanted to go home and check on his brother. However, he knew he'd be in for an earful from Sheila about going off headfirst into danger, and no doubt, she's probably let Sam in on the situation.

So now he's got to avoid his little brother for as long as possible, while simultaneously keeping him safe from a maniacal vampire in his late hundred and sixties. And he has to keep the curse at bay in order to preserve his mortality. With the thought of the curse in his mind, Dean slowly rolled up the sleeve of his left arm and stared intently at the tattoo on his wrist. It was the Notam Bellatores, the Mark of Warriors.

Well, half of it anyway.

All this aside though, Dean needed a drink, especially after the night he's had. That's when, out of nowhere, Dean heard someone knocking on his window, and he jumped out of his skin in surprise. "Son of bitch!" He breathed. He rolled down his window and saw Elena and Stefan standing just outside his car.

"Hey, guys."

"Hey, man. Are you okay?" Stefan inquired. "Huh? Oh, yeah, definitely," Dean brushed off. However, Stefan was not convinced and gave him an odd look. "Well, were you just leaving?" Elena chimed in. "Nah, I was just about to head in for a drink," Dean replied.

"Well, why don't you join the rest of us?" she smiled. "Yeah, okay," he sighed.

"Has Elena said anything about me?" Matt questioned. "Again, why don't you just call her?" Bonnie countered. "I feel weird calling her. She broke up with me," Matt argued. "Besides, it would make me look like a jealous ex-boyfriend if I asked her if she was dating one of my friends." "Well, you'll never know the truth if you hide in the dark,"
Bonnie responded. "Just give them both time, Matt."

Just then, Dean, Elena, and Stefan walked into the grill drawing all their friends' attention. Elena was laughing at something Dean had said, while Stefan seemed to be masking his own amusement with annoyance. Dean then proceeded to ruffle Stefan's hair, as his arm found its way around Elena's shoulders.

The girl watched as Stefan glared at Dean for messing up his hair in amusement, but saw that Dean was feeling rather nonchalant about the whole thing. All in all, Elena looked genuinely happy with the two boys, and that just furthered Matt's own suspicions and put a damper on his mood.

He looked back at Bonnie coldly. "Give them time, huh?" Bonnie gave a helpless shrug and watched the trio continue to interact.
