Scott felt the creeping paranoia from earlier start to leave and was sure that the anuk-ite was on the other side of the school now. It felt further away and he hoped that no one would judge for the choice he was making.

He should've been the one to go after the anuk-ite and left Monroe to someone else, but here he was following her scent. He should've stayed with Isaac and Derek, but instead he was allowing all the grief and anger that had festered to start to pour out with each step he took.

He had given this woman chance after chance to stop, but she hadn't. People were dead now because of her actions.

"Hiding in the library, Imogen?" Echoed the taunting voice of someone she had hoped to never hear from ever again. The anuk-ite was good at imitating even the voices of someone who was dead. The only plausible explanation was because it was able to get into her head that it could see her fears.  "Hiding from me? You think you can fight me, but you can't." Silvia teased with malice in her tone. "Your friends are gone. They saw my face and it drove them insane. They're gone because of you. You failed them. You failed everyone."
