"I don't know why you aren't answering but, please give me a call as soon as possible." Ben sighed, setting his phone down and heard footsteps coming down the stairs. It was his niece who seemed to be ready to rush off again. "You didn't come home last night." His voice startled her.
Imogen's cheeks flushed. "Right. I stayed over at Scott's last night and I came home to shower and change. I'm about to head back to his place so we can track Void Stiles."
He raised a brow. "Is that what you're calling him?" He chose to ignore the fact that his niece had slept over at her boyfriends house. "Anyway, have you seen Grace lately?"
She blinked. "No? I mean, I saw her yesterday before I went out but I don't think she slept here last night either. Do you think she met someone?"
Ben frowned, rubbing his chin. "She was never the type to go just have a one night stand but maybe?" There was a dreading feeling he'd been having lately but he wasn't sure what to make of it. He walked over to his niece and placed his hands on her shoulders. "I know that you and your friends want to save Stiles but this nogitsune isn't pulling any punches. I want you stay safe, understand me?"
"I'll be okay." She promised him, smiling at him.
She looked liked her mother, he thought as he smiled softly at her. "Alright. You know that I love you, right, kiddo?"
She stared at him, her blue eyes shining. "I do and I love you too, Uncle Ben." Her phone buzzed, startling them both. "That's Scott. He said he would pick me up. I gotta go."
"I'll see you later?" Hoping that nothing bad happened to her. Not just the threat of the nogitsune but his sister as well, reminding him that she wasn't safe.
"I'll see you later." She confirmed before heading out the door and out to the sidewalk where Scott was waiting for her.
