"I miss him so much mom."I confessed crying more into her shoulder, a confession I thought I'd never make. make. I miss his presence, talking to him,his jokes and just being next to him, but now I had decided to just move on and put him behind me.
My mom rubbed my back with her hand before she pulled back and placed her hands on my shoulders.
"Lia... sometimes we don't understand why things happen, and sometimes these things may just be meant to help us in our growth as an individual. You've not always been the one with high esteem. And try to think about it, when your confidence and esteem was at its worst that's when Freddy came in your life...to help you with it. He's helped you experienced new things for example dance. Not only that, you enjoy hanging out with him, I remember the time you baked...those were some of the best delicious cakes I'd ever had. Belle even told me he confronted that bully that has been troubling, and I felt more at ease that something was actually done about the matter."
Not Belle telling my mom things again.
Belle had told me that news went around the school that Freddy had confronted Kylie because of something that had to do with me. But when she told me that, I shrugged it off, not wanting to put so much thought into it.Why did Belle have to tell mom things that concerned me though? Sometimes I felt like her and my mom were the ones who were best friends.
"And who knows, maybe just in time your confidence will improve too." She continued
She pulled herself from me so that she could look straight at my face, "And Freddy hasn't made you feel like you have to change to suit a particular character, has he?" She asked, knowing that I knew the answer to that.
"He appreciates you just for you. And sometimes that even scares me a bit. I may not know the boy so well, but I'm observant and I know he's a good boy. Lia, my dear, if you want to detach yourself from him for good, then at least think about these things before you make that final decision."She handed me a note I didn't know she was holding.
"I saw this under the front door, from Freddy." She kissed my forehead before she made her way out of the door. I looked at the note in my hand.
Did I want to read it?
I wiped the tears, off of my face, and decided against reading it. I just wanted to sleep, not wanting to think about this anymore or change the decision I had already made.
But as I was about to get up from my bed to turn off the light I saw a shadow on my door, no doubt that shadow belonged to a particular person.
"Johnny, is that you?"
"Nope" he answered.
"Then who is it?"
"Dad."
I chuckled at his attempt of making his voice father like.
"Get in here Johnny."
He walked into my room.
"You didn't eavesdrop on mom's and I conversation, did you?"
"What? Of-course not, I didn't even know mom was in here." He denied.
I gave him a knowing look.
"Okay fine, I admit it, I did listen to what you and mom were talking about, and I have my fair share of things to say too."
I raised my eyebrows in amusement.
"Now listen up big sis, I'm going to be really Frank with you. This past week you've looked miserable, it's almost as if you've gone through heartbreak. I honestly don't like it, I miss my sister, the one that finds me annoying and I equally find annoying too. Also, it's dumb of you to let someone like Freddy go, he's the one guy that manages to make you blush and smile so much."
