Wasn't Expecting That

I was petting Molly’s back when I herad someone say, “Hey, Amelia?”

I turned to see Fredirico, with dark brown hair and huge glasses, he was holding and petting a cat in his palms.

Now you are probably confused about this person being the popular guy in school and my frendzation partner, but no, this was the other Fredirico the one who was not very popular like myself and loved cats(chapter 5 line 28)

“Hi.” I greeted with a warm smile as I stood up, I looked back down to see that Molly was asleep. “Yeah it’s Amelia but you can call me Lia.”

“Oh yeah, I remember that you hate it when anybody calls you Lia.” he said with a chuckle.

Him and I were in the same Mathematics,Physics and Literature class and I had mentioned many times that I’d rather be called Lia.

I chuckled along.

‘But you don’t mind when the other Freddy calls you by your full name.’ my conscience said to me. I just lightly shook my head to clear the thought.

“So anyway, how are you doing?” he asked.

“I’m okay, but I think the real question is how are you doing?” I said with emphasis to the ‘youʼ.“Its been a while since you last came here.” I continued.

He shrugged. “Yeah, I’ve been busy with school work and I haven’t been having time for anything lately, but I was missing Snuggles so I came here to visit her.” He said as he snuggled the kitten in his hands.

“I’m just from taking her for a walk, I was coming to give her back to the care taker when I saw you. By the way, how’s Molly?" he asked.

I shrugged, “She’s hasn’t been that energetic today.” I said dully.

“Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” He said before one of the care takers came from behind him and politely asked for the cat he was holding. She stated that they were about to close.

“Mind if I walk you out of the shelter?” he asked once the caretaker had walked away.

“No, not at all, thanks.” I said.

“So you won’t be coming here to participate by taking care of cats as you usually do?” I asked, since he said he is really busy.

“No, I actually will. My mom insists that I should have something else I’m doing instead of reading all the time, so I decided that I’ll be here as frequent as I can and I’ve also just joined the dance class, and I’ll be starting on Monday.”he said.

Did he just say dance class?

I had an admonished look on my face. Even just hearing the words ‘dance class' had the power of bringing bad memories back.

“Wow, that’s good.” I said trying to hide the look on my face.” You know how to dance?” I asked.

“Yeah I do.Dancing has always been a part of my family for generations.” he stated.

“Well good luck.” I muttered out quietly.
He is going to be the 19th person to join since I’m out. So which means he’s not going to have a partner just like I didn't. For his sake I hope Kylie is easy on him.

“Why would I need luck?” he asked as he raised his eyebrow.

“No offense to her but Kylie is the dance instructor  so anybody joining would need all the luck they can get.”I said truthfully.

He chuckled, “I don’t think there’s need to worry. She was appointed by the school to be the dance instructor so she has to be nice to all who join.” he stated.
