Lydia's clock was nearly running out. She only had about twenty hours left until she had to return to the Mikaelson's home and while Klaus had convinced Stefan and Caroline to go along with what Lydia said, that didn't stop them from formulating a plan on how to get Lydia back if she did not return when she promised. As a result, Elijah offered Stefan and Caroline both the opportunity to stay longer to make sure that Lydia was alright and none of them objected. Elena had offered to drive down, but they insisted that they could handle it and that someone should be in Mystic Falls in case Lydia changes her plan. Besides, forcing Elena and the Mikaelsons to work together would only create tension and possibly hinder their progress.

Over the course of their time together, they had all stopped trying to pin blame on someone and just think through things clearly. Klaus didn't blame Kol, Caroline didn't blame Elena for helping Lydia lie and Stefan didn't blame the Mikaelson brothers for failing to look out for Lydia. The Mikaelson sister, however, was another issue. The second she caught wind of Lydia missing, she booked her flight back from Europe. She sent Rae back to Mystic Falls, not wanting her to be in a potentially dangerous situation. All Rebekah knew was that Lydia was missing with Silas. And that it had to be someone's fault.

"Unbelievable, I go to Europe for two months and you idiots manage to lose the least elusive person that I know," Rebekah raised her voice as she stormed into the centre of the compound. She dropped her baggage as soon as she entered and didn't hesitate in making her way over to the small sitting area where the group currently was.

"Excuse me for thinking that the three of you were capable of looking out for the only person who likes any of you," Rebekah narrowed her eyes at her brothers."And you Kol. I warned you of breaking L-"

"Don't say her name!" Caroline jumped in quickly before Rebekah was able to finish it."It has to do with what Silas did to Kol. If he sees her face or hears her name, he turns into her number one hater."

"Odd," Rebekah commented."Poor girl. Having her heart broken like that."

"She is not a poor girl anymore," Klaus mumbled into the bottle of bourbon that he was taking a sip from, not bothering to pour it into a glass. He was stuck between feeling proud of Lydia for handling something on her own and annoyed because she wouldn't tell anyone what it was.

"Which is something I would not know because you lot failed to explain it to me," Rebekah told them as she sat down on the empty spot next to Stefan."Tell me now."

"Who wants to do the honours?" Stefan glanced around the group, hoping one of them would be handle it. They already told the story several times. First to Elijah. Once to Elena. Then to a recently resurrected Jeremy. Then to Damon. As well as some people the Mikaelsons knew in the city.
