Stay - Mattheo Riddle

Chapter 151

Kirra, Jasper, Daphne and Theodore had decided to leave Mattheo there to bitch by himself and they had made their way over to the other side of the common room. "You know what, don't worry about him. You should be focusing on more important things rather than the dance right?" Jasper said and nudged the girl gently

"Like what?" Kirra said as she watched Mattheo from across the room. He kept looking over at her and then looking back down at his homework. His chocolate eyes bored into her own. She let out a small sigh, she had finally just gotten back with him and they were already having problems again.

"this is so dumb, all I can think about is him and this stupid dance, I need something else to think about but I cant," she said with a long sigh and slammed her book shut and placed it on the table before leaning back into the chair and letting out a long annoyed groan and began to think back to how it was like when she was Ophelia

He had some similarities to his father. Both of them got angry easy and both of them were very secretive, and neither of them were very open on their feelings or emotions. But Tom had danced with her on multiple occasions and he was much better at hiding things.

"That egg!" Jasper told her in an obvious tone, "there is something else that you should be worrying about."

"Come on, J, I've got till February the twenty-fourth," Kirra said. She had put the golden egg down in her dorm back at the Hufflepuff side in her trunk and hadn't opened it since the celebration party after the first task. "that is plenty of time for me to figure out what the stupid egg is for and why it screams at me every time it is opened."

There were still two and a half months to go until she needed to know what all the screechy wailing meant, after all. "But it might take weeks to work it out!" said Daphne, "It's the second task which means it is harder than the first task. And I get the first task was super easy for you because you are some kind of dragon talking badass, but for pretty much anyone else, that task was almost impossible, so this one is going to be pretty bad."

Theodore nodded his head with a grin and raised his eyebrows over at her, "You're going to look a real idiot if everyone else knows what the next task is and you don't!"

"Well you always look like an idiot so I guess I can get some pointers from you than huh?" the Hufflepuff shot back playfully with a grin

Theodore put his hand to his chest in mock hurt, "that was a bit mean princess," Theodore said with a wide grin on his face. She shrugged her shoulders at him with an even wider grin and he pulled his wand out to jinx her but she didn't even bother pulling her wand out before looking at him and saying, "rictumsempra," and the boy fell to the ground in a fit of giggles as he was tickled all over by the charm

"So . . . you lot got dates for the ball yet?" Kirra asked all of them as she countered the charm she used and allowed Theodore to sit back up on the couch

"Nope," said Theodore and Jasper, their eyes lingered on the girl as they answered the question, both of them working on gaining the courage to ask her to the ball, this was literally their chance, Mattheo wasn't taking her and she hadn't been asked yet so they knew they needed to ask her before anyone else did, it wasn't like there weren't people who wanted to go with her.

"Well, you two had better hurry up, idiots, or all the good ones will be gone," said Daphne as she subtly hinted to the Hufflepuff who had gone back to staring at the boy across the common room. The three of them watched the girl for a moment

"Who're you going with, then?" said Theodore who was trying to draw the attention away from himself.

"I'm going with Goyle," said Daphne promptly, without a trace of embarrassment.
