"I still don't understand why we couldn't just stay home and watch a movie or something." Joe turned into the restaurant parking lot and grumbled from the driver's seat.

You rolled your eyes. He'd been complaining since you left the house about the little party you had gathered together to have dinner in a little Cincinnati restaurant. Due to Covid existing, you had even went as far as to rent the restaurant out for the few of you who were attending. The man could never be fully satisfied. Sometimes he was such a drama queen.

It occasionally annoyed you, but you also loved it. It was hard to not love anything about the Bengal's quarterback.

"You guys have been working so hard recently and I personally think that you all need a night to let loose and have fun." You repeated for what felt like the millionth time. "Besides, it'll only be people like Ja'Marr and CJ and Evan and a few more of our friends. Even Zac will be there!"

He was not impressed and only stared at you with a look you could only describe as boredom. No enthusiasm shined in his eyes. You returned the same look. "Look, it's going to be fun and you're going to have a good time."

Joe pulled into a parking spot and put the car in park. He twisted in his seat to face you. "I'm sure I will, but just know that I would much rather be stuck at home with you, with my lips stuck to your neck and—"

You gasping interrupted his seductive talk. The door flew open and you quickly jumped out, moving so fast that Joe saw a flash and then you were gone. The slamming of your door shook the car and Joe turned to look out the back window. At first, he didn't see where you were running to, but then he caught sight of Ja'Marr running towards you and a smile grazed his face.

"Ja'Marr!" Your excitement matched his. "(Y/n)!" He shouted back. The two of you met in the middle and collided. He wrapped his arms around you and lifted you off the ground to tightly hug you.

Another shout of your name came from your right and you both turned to see him skipping over.

"Shooter!" You both shouted in unison. The kicker beamed at you and you repeatedly tapped Ja'Marr's shoulder until he put you down. You attacked Evan with a hug, throwing your arms around his neck and causing him to giggle. You were in a really good mood and everyone could tell.

The energy and cheerfulness you were expressing was infectious and everyone could feel the happiness and excitement you were feeling. It was difficult not to smile with how you were acting right now and everyone around you was smiling because of it.

"Everyone!" You all turned to see Higgins. He too, was smiling widely.

"Tee!" You ran and hugged him next, while Ja'Marr and Evan patted him on the back.

You would have expected CJ to show up next, since he liked to get there on time, but you were pleasantly surprised when you looked up to see Zac.

"Zac is here too!" You loudly announced. "Coach!" Everyone cheered. Zac smiled and pointed finger guns at you, an inside joke he had started after Joe's iconic locker room and cigar dance.

Tee knew the relationship you had built up with Zac over the past two years and let you go. You bolted over to him and nearly knocked him over from the force of your hug. Zac had become a father figure to you and you looked up to him, since your parents were back home and didn't live anywhere near Cincinnati. Zac was always there for you though and to you, he was one of the most important people in the world.
