"What... are you doing...?" Xiao asked, looking at his wife and daughter. (Y/n) was teaching Xiaolian how to make a sandwich, more specifically a chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato. The idea of making a sandwich always escaped Xiao, and now that his wife is teaching their daughter how to make one, he's not going to understand why they would make such foods.

"I'm teaching Xiaolian how to make a sandwich," (Y/n) smiled as she cut some tomatoes as her daughter was cutting the chicken. "You never know if she's going to go on a picnic with other people, so she needs to learn how to make a sandwich. And because we both are busy all the time and the chef at the Inn can't always make our daughter something to eat, she needs to learn how to make her own food."

"Why not just wait for the snow?" Xiao asked, sitting at the table that looked into the cooking area of the kitchen.

The Yaksha and goddess had both settled down in a nice house in Liyue and Nishati, but because of their work, they live separately. When one of them get breaks, they go to the others home while Xiaolian stays with whoever she feels like. This month, Nishati did not need their Archon for a while, so (Y/n) decided to visit her daughter and husband in Liyue.

"Sweetie, snow is not a good diet," (Y/n) laughed softly. "And besides, I don't want Xiaolian to be eating snow, who knows what creatures have walked on the snow. And our daughter does not need to travel all the way to Dragonspine just to have some snow."

Xiao simply shrugged and sat at the kitchen island, watching his wife and daughter make food. You wouldn't see it on his face, but his eyes showed he craved something known as Almond Tofu.

(Y/n) saw the look in his eyes, and grabbed a plate of Almond Tofu that was sitting in the fridge and gave it to her husband. "Don't worry darling, I made sure there was Almond Tofu for you."

Like before, you wouldn't see it on Xiao's face, but his eyes showed he was happy. He dug into the food, not really paying attention to the smiles on his family's face.

"How long are you going to be staying in Liyue?" The Yaksha asked.

"I'll be able to stay long enough for the Lantern Rite this year," (Y/n) finished making her sandwich, and started eating. "I heard they Are planning on launching fireworks this year. It will most vertically be different than last years."

"I guess so," Xiao shrugged his shoulders. He remembered Lumine and Paimon mentioning someone Xiao used to know. More recently, he has learned the statue where Pervases had given the Traveler the lanterns has a shrine built above it. "It won't be anything special."

"I beg to differ my love," (Y/n) smiled. "You will be spending the Lanter Rite as a family. Since NIshatin needed me, and I did not want our daughter to miss out on something amazing. So this year will be very special for us."

"Mama!" Xiaolian smiled, showing her constructed, but also messy sandwich. Considering she was used to the chef at the Inn to make her food, she had no chance to learn how to make her own sandwich, so of course her first one isn't going to be the best. "I did it!"

"Good job!" (Y/n) smiled and clapped her hands happily. "Next cooking lesson is going to be your fathers favorite dish. And trust me, it is not hard to make. Besides, I'm sure your father will happily eat whatever you make."

Xiao looked up from his plate, and saw his wife's smirking face. Oh she knew he could pretty much never say no to their daughter, the only times being when there is a threat to her. But aside form that, he really cannot say no to her. He glared at his wife for a few seconds before sailing at his daughter. "Of course I am."

Tonight was the night the fireworks show was supposed to commence. The small family stationed themselves at the Wangshu Inn, more specifically, on the roof top. Verr Goldet and a few other staff members were on th balcony, enjoying food with the youngest while Xiao and (Y/n) stayed on the roof, watching their daughter enjoy the food.

"You know, the first time we met, you told me you would never enjoy a Lantern Rite, and yet here we are enjoying one together, and with a child," (Y/n) teased her husband. The first time Xiao had been around for the Lantern Rite, he saw no need to celebrate. When he first met (Y/n), he avoided the girl as much as possible, which didn't work in his favor one bit. Especially since Morax wouldn't take Xiao's side. "And here I thought you hated me back then."

"I did."

"Ow," (Y/n) laughed, bringing a hand to her heart in a dramatic pose. "You wound me so my dear husband. Must you always hurt my fragile heart?"

"You are anything but fragile," Xiao chuckled, wrapping one arm around his wife's waist and bring her closer to him, having her rest her head on his shoulder. "You have survived one of Morax's pillars plunging into your back and cast you into the sea, and you came out without a scratch."

"How I survived that, I don't know," To this day, the goddess still questions how the heck she survived an attack from one of the strongest beings in Teyvat, and that was before he was ever given a gnosis. "Oh well. I'm alive, that's all that matters."

The fireworks started, causing everyone to look at the sky as the gunpowder filled rockets exploded in the air, a large boom erupting the night sky. The staff of the Inn all smiled while the child was at the railings, smiling brightly at her first fireworks show. Xiao looked up at the sky, a small smile creeping on his face. "Yeah. That's all that matters.
