Prologue (First Day Of School)

Raven remains in her tent drinking tea and thinking of her next move, but Vernal walks inside and has questions.

Vernal: Raven. There's something I must ask you.

Raven: Ask. And I will answer.

Vernal: You said that the only person you were interested in was this boy, Silver. But now, you want this other boy to train. This Damian, why is he so special? What do you want with him?

Raven: That boy like Silver possesses a power which is beyond anyone's comprehension. However, it's not just his power, but also his story. This boy comes from an orphanage in Mistral and now, he shows up in Patch, trains alongside Silver and just like him he hasn't reached full potential just yet, but also--

Vernal looks at Raven and sees her take a breath.

Vernal: What?

Raven: The look in his eyes and the calmness was familiar. Likewise I was seeing the face of an old colleague.

Vernal: Who?

Raven: Jasper.

Vernal: Who is Jasper?

Raven looks at her cup and gestures for Vernal to sit down with her. She does exactly that and pours her a cup of tea.

Raven: What I am going to tell you must be between us. Do you understand?

Vernal: I understand.

Timeskip.

Damian and Silver explore Signal Academy without the girls, and realize it's a lot bigger than they imagined.

Damian: Hahaha. It's funny, I have always dreamed about the idea of going to a school like Signal or Beacon Academy. Now, standing here, I feel so-- so–

Silver: Honored? Alive? What?

Damian: Ready. I have always believed in preparation and the work we both did, even though mine was working for a group of psychopaths. I wouldn't be here without my Master and you, Alongside Summer. Thank you.

Silver: No problem. Now, what do you say we give them a good performance?

Damian smiles at Silver and the two of them made their way to Qrow and Tai.

Tai: Welcome you two. What do you guys think of school?

Damian: It's amazing. The entire place is extraordinary.

Tai: Glad you like it. Any dizzy spells left, Silver?

Silver: All good here.

Qrow: Good to hear. Ruby has been going on and on about you going to Signal Academy. I've never heard her so excited.

Tai: Hahaha. She had to contain her energy all last night. Now that we're here, I thought she was going to create a mess to the school. Instead--

Damian: She messed up his hair. (Points at Silver)

Silver traces a comb, shakes his head, and fixes his hair.

Silver: Problem solved.

Qrow laughs.

Qrow: Anyway, Yang was just as excited. She's been talking about how she can't wait to go Signal Academy with you Damian. I've never seen Firecracker so excited. Well, not excited, more like--

Damian: Anxious.

Qrow: Yeah. She tries to keep her cool, but even she gets a little nervous.

Silver: We shouldn't keep them waiting any longer.
