3rd Person POV

Quintessence Field

Born of the Abyss, the Defender shall arise,

The Quintessence Field, an endless expanse of swirling energy. Unrestrained. Raw. Powerful. Good. Evil. The barrier woven between realities and home to the strongest substance in any universe... quintessence, known to be life itself.

"This. Ends. Now."

A surge of bright, crackling light tore across the field, fading into the distance as roiling clouds of white energy drifted across the abyss, dark particles swirling in a nonexistent wind. Nothing should have stopped their path, their flight through an endless sky... yet something did.

"It didn't have to end like this, but you've made your choice."

Drifting through the field, the specks of darkness bumped against light grey armor and shattered, dispersing into a fine mist that crawled across the armored form of a massive mech.

And journey through a world fraught with lies.

A surge of energy cracked across the field, ramming into the mech's armor and running over its body before dispersing... and a metallic groan echoed across the abyss. The mech's eyes flashed, flickering to life as purple flames burst from the edges of his eyes.

"I... will end this... once... and for all!"

How... long... have I... been here? Sincline wondered, his thoughts blurry and muffled as a cloud of white energy brushed over his armor, a shiver running through his body while the cold quintessence washed over him.

Spheres of purple energy bursting in each hand, Sincline spread his arms, and twin torrents of pure destruction tore through the Core of Existence, splitting through realities and causing them to erupt in flashes of brilliant light.

He had been there for several... days? Years? Weeks? Months? Since his battle against the other mech at the core of all realities. What was that mech again? Voltron. Sincline attempted to clench his fist, open a rift to escape, twitch a finger, but a familiar surge of pain roared through his body, coursing through his systems as a tidal wave of blinding energy cracked across his body. No luck.

The Darkness returns, the Witch of endless night,

Sincline remembered this feeling well. The lack of control. The pain. He remembered the feeling of his pilot, remembered his pain as his skin turned into tendrils of flesh and his body melted into his systems. The body was gone now, but he remembered Lotor's pain, his pain....

"Now we will see how Alfor's legacy stands against the new Altean Defender!"

He remembered an eternity of agony, the lack of control, his inability to move or speak in any way. He had given up hope, hope that they would come back to save him. That anyone would come back to save him.
