3rd Person POV

Xiao Long Cabin

"Ruby, relax," Weiss sighed, one leg crossed over the other as she laid down on the couch in the middle of the living room, watching as Ruby checked the window... again. "I'm sure Sincline's alright. He's just... running a little late." He said that his meeting with Ironwood would only take a couple days... not an entire week, she thought. Just what is he doing?

"I know, I know," Ruby replied, glancing toward the window and the slowly setting sun beyond, unable to keep out the worry in her voice. "It's just... I dunno."

It had been a few days since the girls had arrived in Patch, and they had quickly made themselves at home. Ruby's father, Taiyang, along with Yang and Zwei, had gone out on a shopping run, so the Ruby and Weiss had the entire house to themselves.

The center of the living room was dominated by a light green rug, with a dark green couch, matching chair, and a wooden coffee table centered in the middle of the rug. Between the couch and chair was an end table with a lamp on it, and at the other end of the couch was Zwei's dog bed. At the end of the rug was a wooden TV stand with a holographic projector lying on top of it and a potted plant at one end. On the wall behind the TV stand was a doorway leading to the kitchen, a large portrait depicting a night scene, and a shelving unit containing numerous books. To the left of the couch was a large brick fireplace with small pictures on the mantle and a large landscape featured above the grate. To the right of the couch was a corner staircase leading upstairs, with the door to a cabinet and a pair of small landscape pictures underneath. A low bookshelf and another green rug lie along the wall at the end of the staircase, topped by another lamp. A trio of landscapes were vertically stacked on the wall at the bottom of the stairs. Behind the couch was the front door, with a barrel tucked in the corner of the wall next to the fireplace. There were at least three windows in the room, all hung with matching green curtains.

"Look, Ruby, Sincline's a big boy; he can take care of himself," Weiss assured, glancing at her teammate as the young Rose took a seat on the chair

"Look, Ruby, Sincline's a big boy; he can take care of himself," Weiss assured, glancing at her teammate as the young Rose took a seat on the chair. "He... probably just forgot to call. You can't deny that's something he would do."

Ruby gave a wry smile. "Yeah, I guess that's—"

A familiar bark echoed through the house, and the front door banged open, causing both girls to jump... and Weiss to accidentally roll off the couch and onto the ground. "Girls, we're home!" a voice called, and Taiyang entered, heralded by Zwei, who promptly ran to Ruby.

Tai was a tall man with blond hair and blue eyes. He wore brown cargo shorts with a dark brown belt, black shoes, a red bandana on his left arm, and a brown leather vest over a tan dress shirt with the right sleeve cut off. He also wore a metal spaulder, a leather vambrace, and a brown fingerless glove.
