Over the next few weeks, Sun had not allowed himself to get closer with Y/N, but she would not back down. Y/N continued to give him drawings every day, and kept trying to befriend him. Y/N checked into work, Sun didn't bother to come up to her anymore, but it didn't stop her attitude. When Sun came down to greet the first kid, Y/N went up as well.

-"Morning, Sun!"

When Sun didn't say anything back, she pushed her glasses up. Sun had noticed a pattern with it. She only did it when something that should upset her happens, like the times she almost died, and whenever Sun was rude to her. Y/N continued to smile, writing down the kids name. Sun waited for some kids to group up before taking them, and once Jax dropped down the slide, he immediately went to Y/Ns side, waiting for her to finish taking attendance. He followed Y/N to the desk where she set down the clip board. Jax took her arm and dragged her to the crafts table. Sun noticed bags under her eyes that had slowly become more prominent. She looked tired, not just in an energy way. She sat down at the table with Jax, and they both got pieces of paper and a pencil, drawing like they did every day. Sun watched as, on schedule, Jax tapped Y/N on the shoulder, showing off his drawing. Y/N was a little slow to respond, smiling and complimenting the drawing. Jax grew a look of concern.

-"Ms. Y/N, are you okay?"

-"Huh? Oh, yes! I'm alright! Don't worry about me!"

-"Okay!"

Jax smiled and went back to drawing. Y/N stared down at her drawing for a minute, well it must have been well over a minute, because next thing she knew, Sun was calling for everyone to go to the nap time room. As all the kids went in, Y/N locked the door as Sun leaned against the wall. She ran over and grabbed her drawing, going up to Sun. She handed him the drawing.

-"I didn't get to finish it, I got distracted, sorry."

Sun stared at the drawing like he did every day. But he suddenly grew angry, tightening his grip causing the paper to crumple a bit.

-"God damn it Y/N!"

Y/N shrank back a bit, startled.

-"I treat you so terribly! Why do you keep doing this? Why are you so nice? Why haven't you left yet?!"

He opened his eyes, and they widened. Y/N looked scared. Sad. This was the first time he had ever seen her not smiling with him... It made him feel terrible. He began to reach his hand out to her, but then the lights went out.

-"𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚~ 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞- 𝙚𝙝?"

Moon tilted his head, looking down at Y/N. She had her head cast down, unresponsive.

-"𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜?"

He looked in his hand. Another drawing. He grabbed the other side, tearing it in two. He let the pieces fall to the ground. Y/N leaned down, grabbing the pieces. She walked away, and Moon followed. Y/N dropped the pieces in the garbage, and then Moon grabbed her wrist.

-"𝙍𝙪𝙣."

He threw her, and she stumbled a bit. Y/N lost her balance, falling to the ground. She caught herself, just sitting there. Moon wasn't smiling anymore. He grabbed her hair, pulling her up to her feet. She managed to keep her head cast down, Moon tried to make her look at him, but no luck.

-"𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙛𝙪𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙."

Y/N looked up at him. She looked out of it. Tired, in more ways than one. It caught Moon off guard, and he dropped her.

-"𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪- 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙝."

Y/N was silent for a while, Moon just stared down at her.

-"three.. Two.. One.."

-"𝙃𝙪𝙝-"

And then the lights flashed on. Y/N stood up, pulling out the keys to the nap time room. Sun started towards her, but then she opened the door, and kids flooded out. Y/N put on a wide smile, but Sun had seen deep beneath it. He sighed, going over to the garbage and taking the torn drawing. He stuffed the pieces in his pocket.

Y/N went and got the cleaning supplies, and was wiping down the tables, but she was not humming today. Sun walked up to her, and she paused. Y/N turned around to face him, and smiled at him, but Sun saw right through it. He crouched down to Y/Ns height, and she tilted her head a bit, confused. Sun pulled her into a hug. Y/N froze, was he really doing this? She tried to take a breath, and it shook.

-"Let it out.."

-"I'm fine."

Sun pushed her head onto his shoulder. Y/N tried to stay calm, but she could already feel built up tears fighting their way out of her eyes. Y/N pressed on her eyes to try and stop it, but it was no use. Once the first tear escaped, it was like flood gates opened. Tears flowed from her eyes, and she kept trying to wipe them away. Eventually she stopped trying, it was clear her attempts were futile. Y/N hugged Sun back, letting out the sobs she'd held back for so long.

Little did Y/N know, Sun was also crying now. He hadn't hugged someone in years. He hadn't been this close to another person in so long. He needed this as much as Y/N did. He hadn't begun to cry until she hugged him back. The door to the daycare opened, and Sun looked up. It was Foxy. Foxy froze, staring at Y/N crying, then looked at Sun, who's face was streaked with tears. Sun hardened his gaze, and Foxy stormed up.

-"Ay! What's going on here? Why the hell is me fox pup cryin?!"

He took a step towards them, reaching out for Y/N. But Sun shuffled away, he did not want to let go of Y/N. Nobody had held him in so long. He felt wanted. He felt needed. He wanted to feel wanted and needed. Letting go would mean that feeling would go away. When Foxy stepped closer, Sun squeezed Y/N tight.

-"Maybe shes crying because she just got something she's needed for a long time."

-"And what might that be?"

-"Someone who can see she needs help."

Foxy glared at him.

-"I can see when she needs help! We've been best pals for years!"

-"Then why is she crying so much?"

Foxy didn't respond, because he didn't have an answer. He bared his teeth at Sun.

Y/Ns tears had stopped flowing, and she raised her head off of Suns shoulder, wiping her face on her arm, but it wasn't very effective, since she didn't have sleeves. Y/N now realized that she had been hugging Sun, and crying on him. Y/N pushed away from him, but he was holding her tightly. Why was he holding her so tight? Didn't he hate her? Y/N pushed away with more force, and Sun let go. Y/N backed up, and then noticed that Foxy was there. Foxy took her hand, looking her in the eye.

-"Fox pup, did he hurt you?"

-"No.. I don't have a scratch on me.."

-"Not physically, lass.."

Y/N paused. She looked back at Sun, who just sat there, staring back at her. He seemed sad. But Y/N refused to lie, so she didn't give him an answer at all. She pulled her hand away from Foxys, going up to the desk. She kicked the cleaning supplies under the desk, and clocked out. Y/N grabbed her purse and practically ran out the door. Sun and Foxy watched her until she was out of sight. Foxy turned to look at Sun, and Sun faced him. Foxy glared at him angrily.

-"Sometimes silence gives all the answers."

Foxy gave Sun a look of hatred. Sun could not care less for the fox. But one thing still made him feel endlessly terrible.
