When Y/N came to work the next day and clocked in, Sun didn't come down from the balcony. Y/N wondered what was taking him so long. Once the first kid dropped down the ball pit, Sun came down from the balcony, but he did not greet Y/N today. He went up to the kid, and Y/N marked them down. Just like the last week, Jax was nowhere to be found. Some other kids dragged Y/N to play some games, she played with them, and smiled, but she didn't want to smile. She wanted to be alone.

Y/N locked up the naptime room and went over to the desk. She looked around, but it was as if Sun disappeared off the face of the earth. The lights flashed off, and she looked around again, but Moon was not in sight either.

-"Moon?"

Y/N called out for him, but got no response. Y/N wanted to wonder why he didn't respond, but she knew why. They we're avoiding her.

Y/N was about to leave for the day, and she saw a paper next to her purse. She picked it up, and in crude written words with glitter pen, it held an address, and a note saying to ask for 'Jackson Michaels.' Y/N wondered what it was about. She stepped out of the doors after clocking out, but Foxy was not waiting for her. She was completely alone. Y/N looked around, just standing at the door to the daycare for a second. She looked down and sighed, hugging herself. She walked away, and the daycare doors closed behind her. She was going to follow the address, what did she have left to lose at this point?

Y/N pulled up to her house, she was happier than when she left the pizzaplex. Unfortunately, Jax's parents had been killed in an accident, and he had no family to take him, so he was sent to an orphanage. Y/N was able to set up an appointment, she hoped that she would be approved to take him. It'd be nice to have someone else around the house, and he could come back to the daycare every day again! Her appointment was in a week, on one of the days she didn't have the night shift. Y/N got out of her car and went into the house.

The week had gone by slowly. Sun didn't talk to Y/N, Moon wouldn't even make himself known, and Foxy still wasn't at the daycare doors like usual. The only thing that kept Y/N going was her appointment, and that was today. Y/N clocked out and walked alone to her car. She drove over to where her appointment was, and went inside. After a bit of waiting, she was taken to a room, sitting across from a lady with long brown hair and blue eyes. She held a clipboard and smiled at Y/N.

-"You must be Y/N L/N, well, I've got some good news for you!"

Y/N smiled, was she going to be able to bring Jax home today?

-"You've been approved to take Jackson home today! All you need to do is sit a few more forms, unfortunately it's a lot more than the last time, just a few things to finalize you as being his new legal guardian."

The lady pushed the clipboard with a pen towards Y/N. It was a fat stack of papers. Y/N started reading through, signing where she needed to. Y/N was signing papers for about an hour, waiting another while they verified and finalized them. Now she was waiting for them to bring Jax down. Y/N waited patiently at the table, alone in the room. Alone. Like she had been the entire week. Y/N sat there thinking. What did she do wrong? Why was everyone avoiding her? The door opened, and Y/N looked over. The lady stepped in, and Y/N saw Jax peering from behind her. Jax's eyes widened, and he grew a large smile.

-"Ms. Y/N!"

He ran up and hugged Y/N. Y/N smiled and picked him up in a hug.

-"Hey, Jax! I missed you!"

-"Ms. Nora said that you're taking me home with you!"

-"I am, and I'm so glad to."

Jax squeezed Y/N. Happy tears started to well in his eyes.

-"So I assume Jackson will have a happy home with you."

-"He sure will."

Y/N thanked the lady, and she and Jax headed out to her car.

-"So, bud, what do ya want for dinner?"

Y/N looked back at Jax. He smiled at her.

-"Can you make grilled cheese?"

-"Sure can."

Y/N started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. She drove down to her house, and she unbuckled Jax and took him inside. The week before the appointment, she had gotten a room set up with a bed and nightlight. Jax sat in the living room and Y/N put cartoons on. Y/N went to the kitchen and got a pan out. She grabbed bread and cheese slices. Y/N sprayed the pan with non-stick, and started cooking Jax and her some grilled cheese's. Once she finished making them, she put them on plates and went out to the living room, handing a plate to Jax. She sat down in a single recliner.

-"Welcome home, Jax."

Jax turned to Y/N and smiled.

-"How would you feel going back to the daycare every day?"

-"Really?"

-"Yep, I work there, so you can come with!"

-"I can't wait to see all my friends again!"

After dinner, Y/N tucked Jax into bed. She was about to close the door when Jax spoke.

-"Ms. Y/N?"

-"Yeah?"

-"My mom used to sing me to sleep.. Could you do that?"

Y/N sighed, going over and sitting at the foot of the bed.

-"Alright.. But I'm not the best singer."

Y/N cleared her throat, and started to sing.

(I imagine it just being Rises the Moon, not because this is a daycare attendant story, but because it's a song that brings me comfort)

As Y/N finished off the song, Jax closed his eyes, and Y/N moved a strand of hair from his face. She got up, leaving the room and closing the door.
