The next day the family hung out in the garage fixing up some cars and Alex helped Valerie fix up her car. Alex added the purple stripes she sketched out as her mom fixed the engine.
"What about parts and service?" Mia asked Dom as he worked on another car
"Hold off on it."
"Dom, I don't know what to do with it." She argued and the group heard a car pull up. Valerie looked over her shoulder and smiled seeing Brian there with a battered up car.
"All right, what the hell is this? What do you got there?" Dominic asked
"This is your car." He replied pointing at Valerie who laughed
"My car? I said a 10-second car, not a 10-minute car."
"You could push this across the finish line" Jesse joked
"or tow it." Alex added
"You couldn't even tow that across the finish line." Valerie said
"No faith."
"I have faith in you, honey. but this isn't a junkyard. This is a garage."
"Pop the hood."
"Pop the hood?" Dom asked
"Pop the hood." He confirmed and they did
"2JZ engine. No shit!" Jesse said in awe
"And what did I tell you?"
"I retract my previous statement."
"You know what? This will decimate all after you put about $15,000 in it. Or more, if we have to overnight parts from Japan."
"Well put it on my tab at Harry's."
"Yes!" Jessie cheered and high fives Alex
"I gotta get you racing again so I can make some money off your ass. There's a show down in the desert called Race Wars. That's where you'll do it. When you're not working at Harry's, you're working here. If you can't find the right tool in this garage, Mr. Arizona...you don't belong near a car." He said and they walked away leaving Alex and Valerie with Brian
"He owns you now, Blondie." Alex said patting his back.
Jesse sat with Brian showing his the outline of the car and how it would turn out.
