Morning had rolled around and Valerie made breakfast which wasn't something she did often. Usually Brian was the one and no one argued against that. His pancakes were amazing.
Alex, Brian, and Valerie sat at the table and Alex could tell something was up.
"Okay, do you want me to leave so you two can fight?" Alex asked
"We're not fighting." Valerie said
"Then why aren't you all lovey dovey like usual?"
"'Me and your mom just had a disagreement."
"About Uncle Dom?"
"You told her?" Brian asked, he thought they agreed not to tell Alex until everything settled down.
"No, I didn't."
"I saw it on the news." Alex explained
"We don't know where he is." Brian said which was for the most part the truth. He didn't know where Dom was but Valerie did.
"Okay...well this was nice but I'm gonna head to school." Alex said
"I have to head to work I'll give you a ride." Brian said getting up.
"Okay."
Brian went over to a Valerie and gave her a kiss. Though they weren't on the same page about how to handle her brother they weren't going to let it turn into a fight between them.
"I'll call you later." He said and Valerie nodded giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"You better." Valerie smiled and the two walked out the door.
