The next morning Valerie heard the door opened making her sit up. She rubbed her eyes and nudged Brian who was still asleep. He squinted his eyes and looked at Valerie confused
"What?" He whispered
"Someone's here" she said making him sit up as well. Valerie's saw it was Monica making the two look at each other.
"What are you doin' here?"
"Brian, Valerie, they're gonna kill you. I heard him telling Enrique and Roberto. Once you finish the run, they're putting a bullet in your head." Monica said and Valerie could tell the woman was scared.
"You sure you heard 'em right?"
"I'm sure. I'm sure." She said and the door opened again and Roman walked in
"Verone's boys is outs...Oh, I see what they lookin' for...your little friend here."
"They don't know I'm here. I snuck out."
"What are they doin' here then?"
"I don't know. Maybe they're guessing."
"Hey, go stall them. Go stall them for two minutes." Valerie said
"Why me?"
"Because you have to biggest mouth." Valerie said and Roman rolled his eyes
"Check her, homey. Check her." He said as he went out the back.
"Brian, this isn't about being a good cop anymore or-or doing your job. They're gonna kill you. Both of you. You guys gotta pull out." She said and Brian nodded. They helped hide her in the bathroom and went back outside where Rome was.
"Donde est?" Roberto asked
"Quin?" Brian replied and in other circumstances she would have laughed at his Spanish
"You ain't comin' on my..."
They walked into the dock and held a gun. Valerie went to try and go inside to grab her gun but Enrique grabbed her wrist
"Hey, hey! Where you goin'? You stay right here with us, beautiful." He said and Brian pushed him back
"Get your hands off her man."
Roberto went inside to look around and luckily Monica got out through the escape hatch. He walked out and motioned it was time to leave
