A few days later
I'm all set to take the stones back.
"You know, if you want, I could come with you."
"That won't be necessary, Stevie. I'd be more worried if you did come with me. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone, boys."
"How can we, Doll? You're taking all the stupid with you."
"I'll be back."
I return the stones and come back to 2023.
"Gen, now that we're done. Why don't you tell us everything?"
"Yeah, come on, Doll."
"Bucket. Tones. I can't."
"Sweetheart, why not?"
"Because, Stevie, I—I don't remember. When Imade the exchanges, it's like I wasn't supposed to know what happened. That's the only way I can explain it. We may never know what happened, but all I know is I'm ready to retire."
"Before you do, Gen, I think the world needs one last dose of fixing."
"You're right." I head up into the atmosphere again and send my powers all over the universe, effectively fixing everything.
