Y/N is broken out of her stare when Kenma comes down. Her gaze focused on the man, her stern features never leaving her face as she watched him enter the kitchen.
After last night, things have been tense, of course. They hadn't spoken during the ride back home nor when they got home.
They took separate showers and slept back to the back of each other. It was stressful.
Kenma hadn't muttered a word upon entering, and Y/N stood to the side to allow him more room. She leaned against the counter, sipping her coffee.
She needs more than just a cup. But Kenma doesn't blame her for anything that's happening. He knows it's a him problem, so he thinks.
Y/N stared, watching him grab the chocolate milk from the fridge. She hums.
"I thought you hated chocolate milk." She finally says. Kenma gazed at the bottle and then at her.
He looks tired, and honestly, he is. He got zero sleep last night due to his thoughts.
Kenma heaved a sigh and put it back, grabbing the orange juice. Y/N continued to watch him as he worked his way around the kitchen. He got a glass and then poured his juice.
The silence was loud and suffocating.
Y/N set her cup down, not being able to take much more of this. It happened the first time when she barely got to speak with him, and when she did, she found out he's punching holes in walls straight to punching concrete.
"How are you holding up?"
Kenma leaned against the counter, his eyes staring at the fridge in front of him.
"It's fine." It's fine, not I'm fine, and Y/N noticed this.
"You were twisting and turning all night. No sleep?"
He shook his head, sipping more of his juice. He doesn't even want anything right now.
"Want to talk about it?"
"It's fine, I promise."
"Kenma, we're married. We have to talk about things like this. It's obvious that you're not over what happened with Ku-
"I'm going to be late for work." Kenma set the glass down and went to leave, but she stopped him.
"He's still tormenting you. And if so, then maybe you should see a therapist." She says softly.
He scoffs, walking out of the kitchen. Y/N followed behind him.
"Honey, I'm serious."
"Y/N-
"If you don't want to talk to me about it, then maybe you can talk to a professional. You have hardships, Kenma. The thing with Tendou's sisters, going through that at such a young age,"
"Y/N-
"Then your parents,"
"Y/N."
