It was afternoon when we arrived home.

Garreth was standing in the kitchen and jumped happily towards us. "Aaaaaand? How was it?" "Fantastic!" we replied simultaneously. Garreth grinned broadly, gave me a kiss and went back to his pots.

Arwyn put our suitcases down and went to the patio door. Sebastian and Ominis sat next to each other on a bench, talking, while Anne and Rhys played cards together on the lawn on a blanket."You sit here and relax while you let poor Garreth cook. That's mean," Arwyn said to Sebastian as we walked out onto the patio.

"No, he asked for it. We offered to help him, but he wanted to do it alone. But I'm glad you both made it back safely," Sebastian said, standing up. Arwyn and Sebastian hugged each other warmly, after all they had become really good friends in the last few months, before he turned to me and, contrary to expectations, also just hugged and looked at me before pulling me to him for a kiss.

"I thought there was only enough space in your heart for Garreth and Rhys," I giggled. "Oh nonsense, but I wanted to make sure you were really back first. Despite the fact that it was our idea, I'm a bit scared of planes too and I knew you'd be driving the whole time," Sebastian said, slightly embarrassed.

"He wasn't well, but he handled himself quite well. We were here every day and were always greeted by a nervous but quite upbeat Sebastian," Ominis said smiling and sipping his soda.

"Anne really is doing better.", I said looking over at Anne who was having Garreth bring her a fruit salad and obviously playing Rhys off at cards.

"Better than she's been in ages." said Ominis and Sebastian at the same time, "We've walked every day up to here. Without a wheelchair.", Ominis said proudly, "As of now, the white blood cells are no longer rising pathologically." "That means if it stays like this, Anne will be healthy in the not too distant future," Sebastian said, wiping tears from his eyes as he hugged me again.

"Seb, now don't be a crybaby." yelled Anne, who had just come running to us, "Well you lovebirds, how was Rome?" "Beautiful." we replied again at the same time.

Arwyn rushed to our suitcases and took out all the souvenirs. He distributed everything as we had thought of it and hung the photo of us in front of the Colosseum in his office.

"Those pants look great on you, by the way," Sebastian said with a smile as Arwyn just leaned forward to rummage something out of our suitcases.

Arwyn blushed and now knelt down next to the suitcase, causing Sebastian to laugh out loud.

"Arwyn, Mum sends word that she's up for spending Christmas at the castle." "That's excellent," Arwyn said happily. "It also means the Weasleys are coming, though." "That sounds good, doesn't it?" "Well, my family is quite big, but I'll tell Mum that only the English Weasleys and Aunt Adaliz and so on can come." "I suppose you have family abroad?" "Yes, in France."

"Uh, c'est parfait ! Mon français doit être un peu rouillé, mais c'est une merveilleuse occasion de rafraîchir mes connaissances.", Arwyn said enthusiastically.

Garreth laughed out loud, saying:"Ne laisse pas Caelie entendre ça, elle ne sait pas parler français, même si elle a essayé de l'apprendre.", and gave me an amused look.

"Shall I teach you?" asked Arwyn, putting his arms around my stomach.

"My mum already tried that, and so did Garreth. No way in this life, I'm going to learn that language." "Then let's bet. If I can get you to gain a basic understanding of this language, I get to ask something of you at our next masquerade ball. And if you really don't learn it by Christmas, which I don't think is possible, then you get to demand something from me, from every category of my life." he whispered in my ear.
