Olivia's povToday was the day we faced Germany.
Earlier on, Spain beat Canada and so are at the top of the table with five points.
We just had to beat Germany and score more than one goal and we win the Arnold Clark cup.
Sarina had gone through tactics and strategies, along with the lineups in the changing rooms.
She had gone with a 3,5,2 formation. Me and Ellen were upfront. Hempo was playing right Wing and Fran was playing left wing. In midfield, we had G, Kiera and Leah playing, and in defence, we had Alex, Millie and Lucy. Ellie was in goal.
We walk out of the tunnel, and walk past the trophy.
If we win, I'll be the one to lift the trophy.
I'm not letting myself get ahead of time though. Anything can happen in football.
The whistle is heard throughout the whole entire stadium and the match begins.
In the first 10 minutes, nothing really happens. There are lots of free kicks and fouls for both teams.
In the 11' and 12', Germany have two shots but are both saved by Ellie.
Three minutes later, Georgia passes me the ball in the box but I couldn't shoot, there were too many defenders, but I see Ellen free so I pass to her and she manages to get the ball in the back of the net.
She runs to the corner and slides but lands on her bum.
The goal wasn't a beauty of a goal but one thing that was so so so special to Ellen was that she had broken the record for the top goalscorer.
She had overtaken Kelly smith as she had just scored her 47th goal.
Ellen was crying as we all go and congratulate her.
After a good couple of minutes celebrating with Ellen, we reset and continue with the game.
In the 25', Lucy crosses it over to me and I side volley it but the goalkeeper somehow manages to save it.
Jess had a collision with a German player earlier on in the game but she continued playing, however, during the 32' she felt like she couldn't play anymore and went off. Rachel was subbed on instead.
When Jess walks off, I go and pat her back and I run back to the attacking half to get ready for the game to begin again.
The next couple of minutes is constant fouling from both sides.
Unfortunately, in the 41', Germany score from a free kick.
Alex had done a dodgy tackle that resulted in a free kick and yellow card.
I was not going to let this goal stop us from winning.
The half time whistle went and we all made our way to the changing rooms.
Sarina talks about tactics again and goes over her plan for subs in the second half.
We make our way back to the pitch and the second half kicks off.
Two minutes in, Georgia hand balls it but it causes no damage to the scoreline.
In the 60', Lucy has a shot but it goes wide.
A minute later, a sub is made and Nikita comes on for Georgia.
Again, nothing major happens for the next ten minutes. Just loads of fouls and free kicks.
Fran has a chance and shoots but it gets blocked.
During the 82', two substitute are made:
Ella Toone on for Lucy bronze
Alessia Russo on for Ellen white
