Olivia's povOur first WSL match was today.
It was against Liverpool and was being played at the emirates stadium, nearly a sold out Emirates stadium.
I was sat in the family and friends box with less' family.
"See, so much better than city, ain't it? I'm so glad some sense was knocked into you." I hear Leah say and then felt someone sit next to me, nudging my shoulder.
"It's incredible. I mean, I loved city but growing up, this was my home, this was Uncle Jerry's home. This is where I fell in love with football. Here, with arsenal." I tell her, looking around the stadium.
"He'd be proud of you, Livvy." Leah wraps an arm around my back, rubbing it to comfort me. "I just spoke to less. She's doing fine. I know you're worrying about her."
"I am. I'm not even going to try and deny it. She's not been the same after that match. She's scared to go back out and play in front of the fans. I don't know why though. I've told her so many times that she doesn't have to, that's she's an amazing player and that she deserves to be here, but I think she stops listening to me half way through. I just can't have her thinking otherwise because she's so wrong if she is." I say, getting a bit emotional.
"I know, Livvy." Leah continues to rub my back as the game kicks off.
There were shots here and there from both teams but it was clear that arsenal were the dominant team.
The atmosphere was amazing. It seemed that every player had their own chant.
The first half ended 0-0 which surprised me because arsenal were definitely the better team.
As soon as the second half started, Liverpool scored.
It came from an easy cross and a simple tap in but it did the job to put them in the lead.
And it stayed that way all throughout the second half.
About half way through the second half, it was revealed that 54,115 people had come to watch.
That broke the record for the most people watching a WSL game.
It was a tough loss, especially since it was the first match of the season but everyone seemed to take it well.
