76. Confession

That Saturday...

It was 16 June and Nila's 22nd birthday. However she was lying on lying on her sofa in her PJ's, watching Netflix and eating chips. Just then, Harley and Anna came in.

Harley: Sup? You're still in your PJ's? I told we were going outside. Get ready quick!

Nila: For what?

Ana: We're going shopping.

Nila: Nah, not in the mood. You guys carry on.

Harley: Stop being a coutch potato and get up. It's your birthday! We should celebrate.

Nila: Huh...no need. I don't even know why I'm living.

Ana: Youre coming with us. We also got a dress for you.

Ana gave her a parcel. It contained a nice red bodycon dress extending up to the knee

Nila (amazed): From where did you buy this?

Harley: Did you like it?

Nila: Absolutely. It even fits me perfectly. Thanks guys. How do you manage to get the correct size?

Harley and Ana exchanged smiles.

Harley: Somehow. Now you've got a new dress, go and get ready. Time's running.

Nila: Vokaay..

Three of them got out. Nila wore the bodycon dress with red coloured satin ribbon on her hair and a velvet scrunchie on her wrist. Both of them led them towards the park.

Nila: You said we were going to the mall and why are we going to the park.

Harley: You'll see

In a secluded spot, the table was set in with balloons, streamers and a big strawberry cake with her name on top   and lit candles surrounding it. Daniel and Leah burst party poppers as they came in.

Nila was out of words.

Leah and Daniel: Happy Birthday Nila!!!

She covered her mouth in surprise and hugged her friends.

Nila: Thankyou so much guys. So you guys planned it.

Harley: Well, not only us. He was the mastermind behind it. (Looks behind

Nila(smiles) : Who?

She turned back and her eyes widened when she saw Sooraj coming out of the table. Her revulsion turned into sudden anger.

Nila(with a hard look): I never expected this from you all.

She proceeded to leave and her friends tried to stop her.

Nila: Leave me!

Harley: No...just try to hear us out.

Nila: What? For trying to support someone who has betrayed me?? I don't want to hear anything.

Sooraj: Nila wait! Just listen to what I have to say.

Nila: You!!! Stay out of my life!!

He stood in front of her.

Sooraj: Not until you hear me out.  You can shout, hit, or slap me! But I'm not leaving until I make myself clear.

Nila: What do you wanna say? You wanna stay with Stacy? Go on. Who's stopping you?

Sooraj: I don't want to. I wanna stay with you. Only you.

Nila: Well that's over. The moment I saw you kissing her

Sooraj (shouts): I didnt! I didnt! Believe me Nila!! It was a trap. I was trapped!!

Nila (shocked): What?

Sooraj knelt down crying before her.

Sooraj (cries): It was her. She kissed me without my consent. I slapped her in the face for that. It was then you saw....I didn't cheat on you. I swear on my mum and dad. I didn't....

Nila closed her eyes, with tears streaming all over her face.

Nila: I can't...I can't trust you anymore.

Sooraj was shocked. Daniel intervened at this point.

Daniel: Nila. Never say that. He didn't do anything wrong. Don't punish someone for something they haven't done. Think before you do something.

Harley: Yes Nila

Sooraj: Nila, if I hadn't loved you in the first place, I wouldn't have risked everything just to see you dear. I've love you only and I can't bear you away from me. Please understand Nila, you know me? Will I do such a thing? Ask your heart? Am I such a person?

Sooraj's looked at her with tearful eyes and Nila felt someone stabbing her heart. Her eyes were overflowing with tears.

Sooraj: You know, when you left me, I wanted to straight away die. I didn't cheat on you Nila. I swear I didnt.

He buried his arms on his palms and cried his heart aloud. Nila couldn't hold it anymore and She knelt down and hugged him tightly.

Sooraj held her tightly, immersing his head on her shoulder. His tears fell and dampened  her dress. 

Sooraj: I swear I didn't ..Nila
