The whole time Y/N was getting ready for school, her heart was pounding in her chest. Today was the day. She was going to ask out Rodrick. And things would go amazing just like Lexi said.

When she finally picked out an outfit, brushed her hair and teeth she got a message.

doofus:))) : you up!
doofus:))) : ?***
Y/N: Yes, I've been up for a while.

That statement was very true. Y/N had been up since 5:35 in the morning.

doofus:))) : would you like a ride to school?

Y/N smiled at the message before quickly typing out her response

Y/N: That would be great. Thank you:)
doofus:))) : no problem :)
doofus:))) : so you ready yet?
Y/N: Yes. You can come over whenever you're ready.
doofus:))) : i'll come over now then. see you soon
Y/N: See you soon:)

Y/N giggled and kicked her feet like a little girl before making her way downstairs. She sat on the last step with Lee at her side and watched the door. She wasn't being a creep, right? It wasn't creepy to wait for her crush like this, right? She prayed it wasn't, tapping her foot nervously.

Almost five minutes later there was a knock on her front door. Lee broke into a barking fit and charged at the door. Gleefully, Y/N leapt from the bottom step and opened the door, smiling brightly at Rodrick who looked down at her. He wore his regular jeans along with a belt, a band tee shirt and a leather jacket. His hair was messy as if he had just rolled out of bed.

"Hi," he said with a smile.

"Hi," she said back. She thought about asking him then but shook her head. She would wait until her nerves calmed down a bit. She wiped her sweaty palms on her pants and took a step forward to leave her house. But she was stopped by Rodrick who placed his hand in front of her, blocking her path.

"Get a jacket," he told her. "It's getting cold out."

She took his hand, guiding it to his side and walked out the door and closed it. "The cold never bothered me," she quoted.

Rodrick chuckled. "Okay then, Elsa. But if you get cold that's on you, man."

She skipped her way to his van, humming Let It Go before hopping into the passenger seat. She buckled her seatbelt and connected her phone to the bluetooth in the vehicle.

"Mom wants to know if you're tutoring today," Rodrick said as he climbed into the driver's seat.

"Yeah, I'd love to," Y/N said with a smile. Maybe this time, they would be tutoring as a couple.

Rodrick started the van and began driving down the street as they listened to Y/N's playlist.

When they got to school, Lexi and Ben were waiting for them. They walked up to them where they sat on the concrete steps and were able to catch onto a bit of their conversation.

"Do you think she's actually going to ask him out?" Ben asked. Y/N's cheeks went red because she knew who they were talking about.

"Yeah. I, unlike you, have faith in my girl," Lexi said proudly.

"Who are you talking about?" Rodrick asked, crossing his arms.

Ben and Lexi turned around, faces slightly pale. "Uhh." Ben's eyes shifted to Y/N and he went to raise his finger to point at her. But thankfully Lexi took his hand and put it down.

"One of my friends is going to ask out her crush today," Lexi said with a smile.

"You have friends?" Rodrick asked, sitting beside Ben who elbowed him.
