"Okay, so you have my number and I have a list of emergency numbers in the kitchen. If the boys get hungry, you can order pizza. I usually put Manny to bed by 6:45, he can be a bit fussy but if you have any trouble I'm sure Rodrick can help you. Greg goes to bed at 8:30 so make sure he's ready by then. You and Rodrick can stay up until we come back. We should be back by around 10 ish, if we take longer than that we'll give you a call," Mrs. Heffley explained to Y/N who just arrived at the Heffley house. Rodrick had drove the both of them to his place after school.

"I think Y/N knows what she's doing, honey," Mr. Heffley said as he placed a hand on his wife's shoulder.

"Yes, I know, it's just in case," Mrs. Heffley replied.

Mr. Heffley nodded and ushered his wife out the door. "See you guys later. Bye."

And with that, they were gone. "I'm going to my room if you want to come with me," Rodrick said as he climbed up the stairs.

"Let me check on Manny and Greg first then I'll come up with you, okay?" she said. He nodded and disappeared into his room.

Y/N walked into the living room where Manny sat on a play mat, playing with some plastic dinosaurs as Ice Age played on the TV. Y/N crouched beside him. "Hi, Manny," she said with a smile.

"Y/N/N! Y/N/N! Look!" the child exclaimed as he showed Y/N his collection of dinosaurs.

"Very nice, Manny," Y/N said, gently patting his head.

He continued to play with his toys and so Y/N went upstairs to check on Greg. She knocked on his door and waited to be let in.

"Go away, Rodrick," Greg's muffled voice groaned.

"It's Y/N," she said. She heard shuffling from inside the room and rocked back and forth on her feet. The door opened to reveal Greg. His eyes looked puffy as if he were crying. "What's wrong?"

"Rowley and I aren't friends anymore," he said.

"What? Greg, what happened?" Y/N asked. Greg took her hand and led her into his room. They took a seat on his bed and Greg began to explain.

"So ever since I started middle school, I've been having trouble fitting in especially with Rowley being the way he is. And so I tried to be cool, right? And I joined the safety patrol which he joined as well. Then I accidentally broke his arm and he started getting so much attention from it and I guess I got mad. And I sort of blamed him for something I did and he got kicked off the safety patrol but then I told him what actually happened and now he hates me. I feel really bad but it's like he doesn't even care," Greg rambled as his eyes glistened. "He has new best friends and it's like I don't exist."

Y/N patted his shoulder. "I think what you should do is apologize," she told him gently. "Rowley's a sweet kid and I'm sure if you apologize, you two will come to some sort of understanding."

Greg nodded. "I feel so stupid... he's my best friend, I shouldn't have done those things for attention."

Y/N smiled at him. "I think Rowley is the one that needs to hear that."

Greg looked up at her before giving her a warm hug. "Thank you, Y/N." He pulled away. "I'm going to call him."

Y/N got up from Greg's bed. "I'll be in your brother's room, okay?"

Greg gave her a thumbs up and reached for his phone.

Y/N left the room and went into the attic. Rodrick laid on his bed, scrolling through his phone as the CD Y/N made for him played in the background. She seated herself beside him.

"Hey," she said.

He looked up from his phone and smiled at her. "Hi, how's the two shitheads?"

"Manny's playing with his dinosaurs and Greg is going through a break up with Rowley," Y/N replied. "Poor Greg."
