Chapter Fifty-Nine: Halloween

When Y/N and Rodrick walked into school together, Lexi ran up to them. She wore a tight, short white dress, a leather jacket, fishnet tights, doc martens and a choker. Her hair was straightened and she wore black eyeliner and lipstick. On her chest, she had a fake heart tattoo. In her hands, she held a fake knife and a treat basket filled with Y/N's favourite treats.

"Hey, babes," she said to Y/N. "Happy anniversary!"

Y/N smiled and gave her a hug. "Happy anniversary!" she exclaimed.

Lexi pulled away and handed her the basket. "Here's your present. Also... guess who I am." She twirled around.

"Tiffany?" Y/N asked.

Lexi nodded with a smile. "And Ben is Chucky," she said.

Y/N turned to Rodrick. "See, we should have dressed up," she told him.

He looked down at her, a smile tugging at his lips.

Ben walked over to them, wearing blue overalls and a long sleeved shirt. His hair was spiked with gel and he had fake scratches on his face.

"Have you guys seen Barry?" Ben asked. Everyone shook their heads.

"Is he dressed up too?" Y/N asked.

Ben nodded. "Yeah, he's our Glen," he said. "Why aren't you dressed up, Rodrick?"

"I'm dressing up tonight," he told him.

"Y/N, if you were my girlfriend, I would dress up with you throughout the whole day," said Lexi. She looked at Rodrick with a smile.

He glowered at her. "I wish I could punch you," he said.

"Hey, guys." They all turned to see Barry wearing black cargo shorts and a purple shirt.

"We need to take a picture," said Lexi as she grabbed Barry's arm and pulled him towards her and Ben. She passed her phone to Y/N who snapped a quick picture of them. "Thanks." Lexi took her phone back and smiled.

"We're all going trick or treating together, right?" Ben asked.

Y/N and Rodrick nodded.

"We should all meet up at Barry's at like six," said Lexi. They all nodded and before any other plans were made, the bell rang.

"Shit. I need my books," Y/N said. She took Rodrick's hand and the hurried down the hall and into the main locker area. Y/N quickly put in her locker combination and opened the door. She grabbed her textbooks and shut her locker.

"What do you have first?" he asked her.

"English," she replied. He nodded and briskly walked her to class. When they reached the door, he kissed her cheek.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you too," she replied with a smile.

Rodrick noticed that a lot of couples were dressed up and he started to feel bad that he didn't wear his costume to school. He tried not to let it bother him too much but the feeling continuously gnawed at him.

Finally, school was over. Rodrick waited by Y/N's locker for her and watched as everyone walked around in their costumes. Then his eyes found Y/N, holding her textbooks as she walked over to him.

"Hi," she said with a smile.

"Hi," he replied.

She opened her locker and put away her things before turning to him. "Do you want to go to my place to get ready?" she asked him. He nodded and they left the school, hand in hand.
