You were lying in bed, it was really late but you just couldn't sleep, so you just lay looking up at the ceiling hoping that sleep would eventually take over. Just as you started to relax you noticed your PADD light up, you checked it and you had a message...from the Captain.

Jim: I won't lie to you...

You: Lie to me about what???

Jim: I know he's just not right for you

You: Who are you talking about???

Jim: And you can tell me if I'm off, but I see it on your face when you say that he's the one that you want

You: You can see what on my face??? Jim, your not making any sense!!!

Jim: And you're spending all your time in this wrong situation and anytime you want it to stop

You: No offence...but can you stop?!

Jim: I know I can treat you better than he can, and any girl like you deserves a gentleman

You: You do realise, I don't have a boyfriend...are you drunk or something???

Jim: Tell me why are we wasting time, on all your wasted crying when you should be with me instead

You: I'm not crying...are you messaging the right person???

Jim: I know I can treat you better, better than he can...

You: I have no clue who this "he" even is...can you please just explain what's gotten into you?!

Jim: Ever heard of that old singer Shawn Mendes from a long, long time ago???

You: Yeah, you've only mentioned him a million times in the last week...what about him???

Jim: He wrote a song back in the day...I just quoted some of the lyrics, I wanted to see how you'd react

You: Seriously?! It's 1 o'clock in the morning Jim, and you wanted to see how I'd react to an old song?!

Jim: Yep...so what did you think???

You: Well I have to say...you really confused me

Jim: What if I told you that some of the lyrics was my way of saying how I feel about you

You: You've lost me...what are you on about now???

Jim: Well, I know you don't have a boyfriend but I think I can treat you better than any other man ever could...(Y/N), I'm in love with you. Xx

You: Awww... Jim do you mean that??? Xx

Jim: Every word. Xx

You: I love you too 😘❤️ xx

Jim: So...does this mean you'll be my girlfriend??? Xx

You: I'd love to be you girlfriend Jim. Xx

Jim: You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this day. Xx

You: Your adorable but its getting really late and I have an early shift tomorrow. Xx

Jim: Okay...well I'll see you tomorrow...I love you. Xxx

You: I love you too...see you tomorrow, Captain. Xx
