Stepping off of the plane in the sunny Cape Town, Africa you felt the heat from the sun radiate through your body as you walked towards the car waiting to take you to the hotel, they already had your luggage and they were waiting for you.

"You must be y/n?" The driver asked as he held the car door open for you.

"Yes, it's a pleasure to meet you." You greeted him with a warm smile.

The driver smiled back as you got into the cool, air-conditioned car, "thank you." You told the man as he closed the door after you got in.

You spent the journey staring out of the window at the beautiful landscapes of Cape Town. You'd been chosen as a new character in the film The Death Cure as a last minute addition, the cast had already begun filming and you were extremely nervous to join them as you knew they already had a tight bond.

Arriving at the hotel the driver opened the car door for you, after stepping out of the car you turned to thank him as he went to grab your bags from the boot, "thank you."

He nodded, "no problem, ma'am, I hope you have a great time here in Cape Town." He smiled as he gestured to one of the bell hops to get your luggage.

You gave him the money for the journey and a tip before going to check into the hotel.

After checking in you headed up to your room to freshen up and sort your clothes out into the drawers and wardrobe, you'd be living there for a few months now so you had to make it comfortable. You showered and picked out some light blue ripped jeans and white cropped top, you pulled your hair into a pony tail before heading out of your room. You didn't start filming until the next day so you decided to have a look around outside of the hotel.

Grabbing a map from the front desk you headed outside, the hotel was situated next to a beach so you decided to start there and walk along the beach until you found a small cafe. After a few hours you decided to head back to the hotel as it was getting dark.

As the elevator reached your floor you stepped out and headed to your room, you noticed a man standing outside of his door searching for his pass key in his wallet. You looked over at him and he looked oddly familiar, his brown messy hair framed his face that was covered in small moles like constellations. You looked away before he noticed and you took your small card out of the back of your phone case, he noticed and chuckled lightly.

"I should try that next time, I'm always losing my keys amongst all of these other cards." His laugh made you look over at him and a lopsided smile spread across his face.

You smiled back at him as you realised who he was but you didn't say anything about it, "it's a handy trick."

He looked down and finally found his card, "ah," he exclaimed, "well, good night." He smiled at you before opening his door and going inside.

You opened your door and closed it behind you, you leaned back and sighed, it was only Dylan O'Brien staying in the room next to you. You didn't expect him to know who you were, you weren't a known actress but the director had seen something in you that others hadn't and he couldn't wait for you to join their film.

The next morning you got ready and chose another simple outfit of black skinny jeans and a white t-shirt. When you were leaving your room you heard the door close next to you, Dylan looked over and smiled.

"Ah, we meet again," he chuckled, "I'm sorry, I didn't get your name last night?"

"Y/n." You smiled before closing your door behind you as you stepped into the corridor.

The name seemed to trigger something in Dylan's mind but he couldn't place where he'd heard it before, "I'm Dylan, nice to meet you."

You both ended up taking the lift together and you stood opposite each other quietly, when you reached the bottom floor you both walked towards a large room where they were serving breakfast.

After grabbing a bowl of fruit you found a table by yourself until you felt someone stand opposite you, "mind if I sit here?" You looked up and saw Dylan gesturing to the empty seat.

"Sure." You nodded, your heart fluttering slightly.

"So," he said after a moment of silence, "are you here for a holiday?" He asked casually.

"Uh, no," you looked over at him and saw him gazing at you with his chestnut brown eyes, he was wearing a white shirt that made his tanned skin stand out and made him extremely attractive, "I'm actually working on a film here..."

He raised his eyebrows, "that's funny, me too!" Then it seemed to click where he recognised you from, "The Death Cure right? That's where I recognised your name from!"

You nodded, "mm-hm," you mumbled through a mouthful of fruit.

"Mm," Dylan nodded, "I overhead the directors talking about a new girl on set, I guess that's you." He smiled before taking a bite of cap'n crunch.

"So how's filming going so far?" You asked.

"Oh! It's really good, I bet you'll make a great addition to the cast." He grinned.

"You think so?" You asked hopefully.

He nodded, "I know so," he looked down at his watch and his eyes widened, "we better go."

You checked the time and stood up quickly, followed by Dylan, "I didn't realise it was so late!"

"It's fine, I'll tell them you were with me." A small smirk spread across his lips that you didn't see as you hurried out of the hotel and towards a row of taxis.

"It'll be easier if we share one right?" You turned back to him and he nodded as you got inside, he climbed in after you and told the driver the address of the set.

Dylan noticed that you looked slightly nervous and he reached over and placed his hand on top of yours that was resting on the seat between you both, "don't worry, everyone's really lovely on set, you'll fit right in."

You looked over at him and he smiled reassuringly, "thanks, Dylan."

"No need to thank me, y/n... say, after work we can hang out if you want?" He asked hopefully.

"I'd love to." You smiled as he squeezed your hand... you knew that the next few months wouldn't be so bad after all.
