you walk up behind him and take hold of his hand, lacing your fingers with his, "we finally made it."
he glances over at you with his eyes full of love for you, "yeah," he said softly, "and i'm so glad you're still with me."
after everyone he'd lost on the journey, he was extremely grateful that he still had you.
he wrapped his arm around your shoulders as you lay your head on his chest, both of you admiring the serenity of the beautiful ocean in front of you.
finally you were both at peace.
