Running through the forest of Beacon Hills was a reoccurring thing when you were a supernatural. But unluckily you were just a human like your best friend, Stiles.

You and the pack were facing your most dangerous threat yet, something that controls fear, and it just happened that yours was dying before telling the person you love how you really feel. It was cheesy, but living in Beacon Hills it played on your mind often.

The forest was dark and your only lead was following Stiles who was running next to you, Scott was ahead of the both of you and you seemed to lose track of where he was.

A high pitched screech sounded behind you as you both carried on running, you glanced across at Stiles who looked panicked.

"Stiles! What is that thing?!" You yelled.

"I don't know!" He yelled back, he sounded extremely out of breath.

It felt like you'd been running for hours as you finally reached the Beacon Hills Reserve sign, the jeep was now in sight.

Scott was already in the drivers seat trying to turn the engine on, not having any luck.

You knew you had to do something to stop it getting to Scott, or worse, Stiles.

You turned around and saw the most terrifying thing you'd ever seen in your many years of living in Beacon Hills.

The monster heading straight for you didn't even have a face, it was simply a body surrounded by dark mist.

Stiles yelled for you to move but it was too late, it was already in front of you, impaling your stomach with its claws.

Everything happened in a blur, the monster left and Stiles rushed to your side as you fell to the cold ground of the forest floor.

"Oh god, y/n." He panted, still out of breath from all of the running.

"It's okay, Stiles. I did it to protect you." You said, your voice sounded croaky as you spoke.

Something didn't seem right, the pain spread throughout your whole body and it was excruciating as if the claws held some type of poison.

"It's definitely not okay, y/n!" He exclaimed, taking off his hoodie and pressing it against your stomach, before he did he noticed that the blood was black as if something was wrong.

"Scott..." he looked up at his best friend who was now besides you, "we need to get her to the hospital right now."

He was determined not to lose you, you meant too much to him.

Scott lifted you up and carried you to the backseat of the jeep where Stiles sat besides you, laying your head on his legs as Scott drove to the hospital.

You looked up at Stiles as your vision was becoming blurry, you searched for his hand to hold and you squeezed it tightly, "please don't leave me." You begged, your voice came out as a whisper.

For some reason a small laugh came out of his mouth, "I should be telling you that, y/n, you just have to stay with me, okay?" He pleaded, looking down at you with tears in his eyes.

You felt your body shutting down, everything seemed to slow down as you saw Stiles for one last time in front of you, "there was something I had to tell you-" you managed to utter before your eyes fluttered closed.

Stiles shook his head, "y/n? y/n!" He raised his voice, placing his hands on your cheeks, "no, no, no..." he muttered to himself as he checked your pulse.

It had stopped.

The next thing you knew, you woke up to a blinding white light.

Looking around you saw the familiar setting of a hospital room, and right besides you with his head resting besides your hand as he held onto it was Stiles.

You were extremely confused at how you were still alive, everything seemed to end suddenly.

You decided to squeeze his hand gently, "Stiles..." you whispered gently.

Suddenly he sat up and looked around before his eyes landed on you, "oh, y/n!" He sighed in relief, his eyes filling with tears, "I thought I'd lost you."

"I thought... I thought I was dead." You said quietly.

His tears fell as he took of your hands, "I thought so too... but when we brought you to the hospital Melissa had some kind of potion that brought you back, I wasn't really listening because all I cared about was you."

"Oh..." you nodded, processing everything.

He looked as if he wanted to ask you something desperately as he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.

"What is it, Stiles?" You asked, still holding his hands.

"I, uh... you said something before your heart stopped, you had to tell me something..." he trailed off, looking at you with his teary, brown eyes.

You remembered that quite clearly now, you guessed this was a better time than ever, "I love you, Stiles, and not just as a best friend."

His eyes widened as you said those three little words, he looked as if he was in shock.

"Stiles?" You repeated, snapping him out of his daze.

"Sorry... it's just I've dreamed of you saying those words to me for a long time. I love you too, y/n." His lips flickered into a smile.

Someone cleared their throat behind Stiles, he turned to see Melissa and Scott, "that was beautiful, really. But I need to test y/n's vitals and everything to check that she's okay." Melissa said as she walked towards you.

"Oh, okay." Stiles nodded, getting ready to stand up.

"No, please stay." You reached out for his hand.

He looked to Melissa who nodded, Stiles sat back down and gave you a reassuring smile, "I'll always be here."
