'walls could talk' by halsey

Sitting in the limo before heading into the premiere for your boyfriend, Dylan's new film, he found yet another thing to argue about.

"Y/n, if you're tired of these premieres why don't you just stay at home?" He groaned.

You frowned, "what?"

"It's just you always look so bored... are you bored of this?" He pointed between the two of you, "of us?"

"I'd never get bored of this, Dyl, you know I love supporting you and your films. Maybe if your attitude wasn't so bad I'd actually enjoy them." You snapped back.

He'd been so different lately, you didn't know what was wrong but ever since he invited you to go with him on his tour of the world to promote his film he seemed so irritated and would always argue with you about little things.

He looked shocked with your reply that he couldn't think of anything to say until his manager came and opened the limousine door to tell you both it was time to get out and take photographs.

Dylan nodded, plastering on a fake smile as you did the same as you both stepped out and faced the flashing lights and yells of the paparazzi and interviewers.

His hand slipped around your waist as he pulled you close to him to pose for the cameras, lately this was the most contact you had with him out in public. At the hotels you stayed at during the tour he would always sit away from you and busy himself reading emails from his manager.

You glanced up at Dylan and wondered what went wrong, if it was something that you'd done or if he simply wasn't interested in you anymore. Of course, when people saw the photographs they'd think you were simply looking at your boyfriend with love.

Before you began to feel too upset, you glanced away from him, smiling for the cameras.

Dylan didn't notice how you felt, his mind was busy thinking about what he had to say to the interviewers and where to look for the cameras.

"I'll see you inside, Dyl." You muttered quietly, knowing he probably didn't even notice as you left his side and wondered inside of the venue.

Moments later he was talking to an interviewer about how great it is travelling the world with you, he smiled politely, "it's great, isn't that right, y/n?" He asked, as he turned around and noticed you weren't besides him he felt an emptiness inside of him.

"Lost your girlfriend, Mr O'Brien?" The interviewer laughed.

"Uh, it seems like it... excuse me, I need to go and find her." He muttered, leaving the red carpet despite the protests.

He looked around the crowd inside of the venue, not seeing you anywhere.

"Are you looking for y/n?" He heard his manager ask.

Dylan nodded, "I think I've made a huge mistake."

"Oh wow, okay, listen- don't let this get in the way of tonight. This is important." His manager stated.

Frowning, Dylan finally looked at his manager, "y/n is more important to me." He said before searching for a back exit, he couldn't go back through the paparazzi.

He tracked down a taxi on the busy streets of New York where the premiere was being held, telling the man to take him back to the hotel he was staying at.

Meanwhile you were busy packing your suitcase, finally having enough of being ignored for the entirety of the press tour. Wiping tears from your eyes as you came across some photo booth pictures you and Dylan had taken at one of the premieres, you wondered if his smile and the cheek kisses were real or again, just for the camera.

As soon as you were dragging your suitcase off of the bed you heard the door to the hotel room opening and someone rushing around, "y/n?" You heard Dylan's voice call out.

When he opened the bedroom door his eyes trailed from you to the suitcase next to you, "we aren't leaving until tomorrow..." he mumbled quietly.

"You're not leaving until tomorrow, I'm leaving today. I'm tired, Dyl." You sighed, walking towards him and pulling your suitcase behind you.

He held his arm out in front of you, blocking the doorway, "please, y/n..."

"What? Now you want to talk to me after ignoring me for the past few weeks? You can't even touch me unless we're in front of cameras." You exclaimed, rolling your eyes.

"That's not true..." he mumbled.

You stared at him for a moment, debating what he was thinking, "you really think that?"

Dylan grimaced, "okay... maybe I've been a little distant lately."

"A little? You start arguments with me for no reason, you didn't even notice I'd left your side at the red carpet, need I go on?" You sighed exasperatedly.

He looked down, "alright, I'll admit, I haven't been the greatest boyfriend to you the past few months, or even a great person... I'm really sorry, y/n. I'm just nervous and anxious all of the time, not knowing what to say to interviewers, it makes me uncomfortable and I guess I take all of that out on you, and it's not okay."

"No, it's not, Dyl." You said sadly, looking away from him.

"If you could just let me make it up to you... I promise I'll be a better person." He begged, stepping towards you slightly.

"Dylan..." you shook your head, looking up at him as he stared at you with those huge brown eyes you loved so much.

"Please, give me one more chance? I'd never forgive myself if I let you walk away." He said.

Staring at him for a while, you debated whether he was serious or not.

"Don't make me regret staying." You said quietly.

His eyes seemed to light up, "I won't, I promise you, I won't." He said quickly, stepping towards you and wrapping his arms around you.

You wrapped your arms around him slowly, resting your head against his chest.

"I love you so much." Dylan mumbled against your hair.

"I love you too." You whispered.
