Bughead: opposites attract

Chapter 9

Later that day jughead was in the back office of the wyrm finalising some paper work about Betty living with him and the school situation with his dad and she now needed an address for school stuff to he sent to and a parent/ guardian to sign so both FP and jughead signed. They were broken out of their work mode by infectious laughter coming from the bar. The two Jones men made their way to the bar to find fangs and Betty singing on the stage. Betty was wearing a yellow sundress that along with her golden hair made her look like the ray of sunshine all the serpents call her. Betty must have found the old Karaoke machine and all the serpents were crowded around to see her and fangs rendition of 'uptown girl'. FP and jughead smirked at the faces of their fellow serpents who were all in awe of Betty's voice; she truly was an angel. Jugs head snapped back to the stage to see his girlfriend twirling around and swaying her hips as she sung her part:

"She'll see that I'm not so tough
Just because I'm in love with an uptown girl
You know I've seen her in her uptown world
Shes getting tired of her high class toys
And all her presents from her Uptown boys
She's got a choice"

She had the whole bar dancing and cheering along and jugheads heart was swelling with pride at his girlfriend, she was going through so much and yet she was still so happy and bubbly and managed to get a whole bar of scary biker dudes to sing karaoke. When it was fangs verse she stood and danced around him, completely free and smiley.

"Uptown girl
You know I can't afford to buy her pearls
But maybe someday when my ship comes in
She'll understand what kind of guy I am
And then I'll win"

FP turned to his son with a massive grin on his face and said "she's really something isn't she?" As he nudged his shoulder. "Yeah dad, she really is" Jug said, the look of pure adoration not leaving his face as his eyes didn't leave Betty's singing and dancing form. Finally Betty and fangs ended the song.

"My uptown girl
You know I'm in love
With an uptown girl

With an uptown girl
My uptown girl"

As soon as the song finished and the music died down all the serpents erupted into cheers and claps. "Woo! Go betts! "You have an amazing voice girl!" "Yes! Go sunshine" "fangs and Betty you were amazing!". Betty and fangs just looked at each other laughing before taking a dramatic bow. Fangs hopped off the stage and jughead went to help Betty down, instead of helping her off with his hands he turned around and she jumped onto his back. Carrying a giggling Betty he made his way over to his dad. "Wow Betty you were so good!" FP said, smiling at the girl on his sons back. "Thank you" betty said. "He's right you know, I didn't think there was anything else you could do to amaze me but here we are" Jug said and before he could say anymore she angled her head and have him a kiss on the lips.
