Chapter 67: A Universe Despairs

Yamcha faced Bergamo, staring him down as if he had nothing to lose. Roh, the Supreme Kai for Universe 9, laughed and said "There is no way that some ordinary human is going to defeat the strongest warrior of Universe 9!" The Supreme Kai of Universe 7 grimaced and watched both fighters prepare to trade blows. "Yamcha... You know you can't toy with him, not in a situation like this!"

Yamcha smirked, totally confident. "If you're gonna run, now's your chance." Bergamo chuckled. "You seem pretty confident! But you're about to see exactly why they call me 'Bergamo The Crusher'!" Bergamo raised his fists. "Hit me! I dare you." "If you say so!" Yamcha punched Bergamo in the jaw, but he recovered and suddenly grew in size. Yamcha stepped back, confused. "What?" Bergamo grinned. "I can absorb a foe's power and make it my own! And what's more, I can hit back with double the force!" Yamcha grimaced, pondering over what to do, when he remembered Goku telling him about how the Saiyan had defeated Bergamo during the Zen Exhibition Match- supposedly, Bergamo's energy-absorbing trick had a limit, since it couldn't just keep on increasing his power. Goku had overwhelmed Bergamo with the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken, but he wasn't serious when using it. It was just to show off a little to the gods. Goku speculated that he could've taken Bergamo at that level as a Super Saiyan 3, though he wasn't sure. Yamcha's grimace lightened. I'm nowhere near as strong as Goku is in his Super Saiyan Blue form... at least, not if I don't use a massive Kaio-ken multiplier, and even then I probably couldn't match him in the slightest. But if I use just enough power, I might be able to beat this guy! 

Yamcha shouted in challenge and rushed forward, relentlessly pummeling Bergamo with strikes, when Goku noticed and shouted "Yamcha! Don't do that! He gets stronger each time you-" "Hit him! I know!" Yamcha replied, taking a second to glance and smirk at his friend. Goku's eyes widened as he realized Yamcha's plan, and he nodded, smiling- until Basil continued to press him. Goku focused on his own fight again. Meanwhile, Bergamo just kept getting bigger and bigger with each blow Yamcha landed, and he just laughed every time. "Ha ha ha! You can't beat me this way, fool! My power is limitless!" "I don't know about that." Yamcha retorted, reeling back his fist and triggering the basic Kaio-ken. "Let's see how you handle me when I keep increasing in power, too!" Yamcha socked the now-giant Bergamo right in the gut as hard as he could, and Bergamo winced in pain. "Argh... You pest!" He tried to swat Yamcha, but missed as Yamcha vanished and appeared behind him. Yamcha began to run and leap around Bergamo, hitting him with attacks as the wolf-like humanoid tried to hit him. Long story short, he couldn't. Every time Bergamo thought he had Yamcha right where he wanted him, Yamcha would just zip out of Bergamo's way like a fly outmaneuvering a human trying to kill it. Bergamo's fists and feet made contact with nothing but the fighting stage as Yamcha continued to nail him with hit after hit. Finally, Bergamo began to grow tired and faltered for a moment, and Yamcha appeared directly in front of him, looking up at the massive fighter and grinning. 

"You say that your power increases with each hit you take, and maybe that's true. I wouldn't know- I can't sense your energy. But no matter how big and strong you get, it doesn't change the fact that not only am I faster..." Bergamo growled and attempted to crush Yamcha, but Yamcha simply jumped backwards out of the way. "I'm also stronger!" Bergamo looked up angrily. "Grrr... Oh, really?! Prove it!" Yamcha landed on the fighting stage, inclining his head a little. "Alright, I'll give you a show!" He leaped into the air a second time. "KAIO-KEN TIMES TWENTY!" The red aura around him burst outwards and upwards. "Whoa!" both Omni-Kings exclaimed, staring at the red glow which briefly illuminated the entire fighting stage with wide eyes. "What's that?" Zen-Oh asked. "It's so red and fiery and pretty!" Future Zen-Oh remarked. Grand Minister also seemed the tiniest bit interested. "That's the Kaio-ken." "The Kaio-what?" both Omni-Kings asked. Grand Minister faced the two and explained: "The Kaio-ken. It's a technique that doubles the user's power, and it can also be multiplied to the user's wishes in order to increase the amount of power they gain. However, reckless use of the technique might take a rather unpleasant toll on the user's body." Both Omni-Kings nodded, looking at each other with small frowns on their faces. "But doesn't that mean..." Zen-Oh began. "That Yamcha will be hurt after the Kaio-ken wears off?" Future Zen-Oh finished. Grand Minister smiled, shaking his head. "I don't believe so. Yamcha seems to be rather skilled with the technique." Both Omni-Kings nodded again, and they laughed. "How thrilling!" Zen-Oh said. "How cool!" Future Zen-Oh expressed. 

Yamcha finished rising into the air, then cupped his hands in front of his stomach. "Ka..." He moved them to the side of his body, still chanting, "...me... ha... me..." Like so many times before, a blue ball of energy appeared between his hands. Bergamo scowled. "Oh, no, you don't!" He began to charge up a giant red energy wave with one hand, shouting "Wolfgang..." Yamcha threw both hands forward, screaming "HAAAAAA!" Bergamo responded by throwing his hand into the air towards Yamcha, and the energy wave rocketed up at him. "Penetrator!" The blue and red energy attacks clashed, with both combatants focusing in effort, but Bergamo seemed to be getting worn out. Finally, Yamcha yelled and powered up his Super Kamehameha further, and the attack overwhelmed Bergamo, who just managed to block the blast. It did, however, give his arms quite a few bruises and sent him to the edge of the fighting stage. Basil and Lavender appeared on either side of him, both looking concerned. "B-bro! Are you alright?" Basil asked. Bergamo clenched his teeth as Yamcha landed in front of the trio, raising an eyebrow as if to provoke them. Bergamo growled in frustration, then brought both hands to the sides of his body, both of them glowing with red energy. Basil and Lavender did the same, Basil's hands glowing blue and Lavender's hands glowing yellow. "Let's do this, brothers!" Bergamo shouted as they charged their energy. "Triangle... Danger..." All three warriors fired their blasts at Yamcha. "BEAM!" Yamcha wasn't worried- he powered up to Kaio-ken times twenty again and charged up a Super Kamehameha, with Goku, Vegeta, and Marorizu all appearing alongside him. "C'mon, guys! Let's put these dogs down! Ka... me... ha... me... HAAAA!" "Try this on for size!" Goku shouted as he powered up to Super Saiyan Blue and fired a Super Kamehameha as well. Vegeta went Super Saiyan Blue and got ready to shoot a blast of his own. "Final... FLASH!" A yellow energy wave burst forward from between his hands, and Marorizu went Super Saiyan 2, joining in as she shot a Galick Gun. "Galick Gun, FIRE!" The blue, yellow, and purple energy waves all easily overwhelmed the Trio De Dangers, who were knocked off the fighting stage by the four combined attacks- and they had been the last of Universe 9's warriors remaining on the fighting stage. 

"All of Universe 9's warriors have been knocked off the fighting stage. Now, Universe 9 will be erased." Grand Minister declared. Everyone froze, staring at the spectating stands, where all of Universe 9's warriors and gods now sat (or laid) petrified with fear. Roh finally called out "L-Lord Zen-Oh! Please don't!" Both Omni-Kings ignored him and raised their hands, standing up and joyfully shouting "Alright!" Roh screamed as he was wiped from existence, and all of Universe 9's warriors also cried out as they were erased. Sidra, the God Of Destruction from Universe 9, sighed sadly before he, too, vanished in a flash of light. Whis spoke: "Universe 9 and all of its inhabitants have also been erased." Yamcha stumbled backward, completely shocked. "W-what?!" He stared at where the Omni-Kings and Grand Minister were, and Grand Minister smiled down at the fighting stage. "Man..." Yamcha muttered, now truly scared, "They weren't kidding around."
