HOLY HECKING CHEEZITS THIS HAS 109 VOTES OMLOMLOMLOMLOML. Okay, THANK Y'ALL WHO READ THIS REGULARLY, YOU'RE ALL WONDERFUL PEOPLE

Samuel flipped through his patient's chart, checking for anything out of the ordinary. seeing nothing, he smiled at the small puffy-haired child in the bed and lanced at his parents.

"Everything looks normal. You'll be up and moving by tomorrow afternoon." The boy cheered. Samuel found himself in a strangling hug from his mother.

"Thank you!" she said happily. Samuel patted her shoulder and smiled.

"It's no problem dear." he turned to leave but stopped in the doorway.

"I'll see what I can do about some ice cream from the cafeteria," He said brightly, smiling at the expression on the small child's face. He put the clipboard in its slot and went out into the main area. He checked his folder and saw that there were no more charts or patients, but he could have sworn that he had just had about two more charts for his patients. He checked to make sure that he was looking in the right folder.

"Dr.King?" Samuel looked up to see the boys father, his glasses perched on his nose and his goatee a little scraggly.

"Yes?"

"I just want to thank you for taking such good care of our son. We never imagined that a cold would be pneumonia..." he trailed off, glancing in the direction of his son's room, regret and fault flickering in his eyes.

"Mr.Hamilton, don't blame yourself. Pneumonia often occurs even after the cold has passed. you couldn't have done anything but what you did." Alexander looked back at him, surprised.

"Wha-how did you-"

"I've been a doctor a long time Mr.Hamilton. You start to recognize it." he smiled. Alexander shook his hand and went back to his son's room. Samuel smiled.

"Dr. King!" Samuel looked across the room to see an intern running over with a chart.

"What's up?" He said, folding his arms across his chest.  She started walking, gesturing for Samuel to follow.

"Your husband's in the military right?" Samuel nodded, smiling sadly.

"Yeah. on a deployment. He'll be home in December." The intern nodded. She pulled out her phone and opened it up, swiping through a few things.

"There's something I want you to watch real quick." Samuel took the phone and pressed the play button. A face showed up on the screen, which he recognized as one of his past patients.

"Samuel is, God i don't know. My theodosia was sick, and he seemed to be the only one who cared. I couldn't tell you how much I appreciated him" smauel looked at the intern she looked back at him and nodded her head towards the phone.

"keep watching," she is said. samuel raised an eyebrow but turned back to the screen nevertheless.

"when Molly was sick he was amazing. He always kept us up to date with her treatment" Thomas and James' faces popped up on the screen. Samuels' hand went to his mouth and tears filled his eyes as more and more people showed on the screen, talking about the treatment they had received from him. The last video was of George, smiling and looking into the camera.

"well, Samuel is my husband, so im not entirely sure how I could say that he has treated other than amazingly. Even after the deployments, he's waited for me. I can't wait to see him again." Samuel looked at the intern. She grinned.

"there's one more surprise, so don't start crying yet." Samuel laughed as she led him through q set of doors.

"Okay, close your eyes real quick" Samuel complied, walking through the door as he heard whispers on the other side.

"open em' up." Samuel did and saw most of the nursing staff, the director of the hospital standing there.

"dr.king. I would first like to say that you do too much for the hospital to go unrewarded. You're also infuriatingly modest about it." Samuel laughed as a few more people did the same.

"we heard that your husband wouldn't be home for another ten months, after serving for another six. So..." she stepped aside. Samuel spotted a camouflaged uniform with a heavyweight backpack. Samuel ran over and tackled  George, sobbing happily and cradling his face in his hands.

"Oh my lord! Your home! Your safe!" he cried. George laughed and sat up, squeezing him to his chest.

"i missed you too Sammy." Samuel kissed him and buried his face in his shoulder.

"I got it on video!"

"Hey dele-" Samuel shook his head

"I couldn't care less

Later

"Hey Sammy?"

"Yes darling?"

"The videos on the news"

"What?!"
