ahhhhhh thank you guys so so much uwu i don't even know what to say and half of that reason is because my brain is fried lol

let me tell you a story lmao

my dad has been wanting to hike across the grand canyon and last wednesday he saw an opening at the campground at the bottom of the canyon for sunday night. so dad just walked in the house while we were eating dinner (actually only i was eating dinner lol) but he came in and was like "start packing, we're leaving tomorrow." that's when i posted the message on my board saying something about taking a spur-of-the-moment trip. and then we started out driving. when we got there the day before our hike, i lowkey felt pumped up and was like "i can do this" and i was really excited. i was apprehensive, but i was ready. we got up at 4:30am sunday and drove to the canyon from our hotel and on the way there was the last time i opened wattpad for almost two days. at that time, book two was at 999k reads and that was when i told you guys to stop reading it. i figured you guys wouldn't listen because you're my little disobedient cherubs, but the only thing i was focused on was hiking lol.

um going down is super easy. i really wasn't that tired or anything. it's ten miles down to the bottom and the first three are primarily switchbacks which are of the devil!! only when you're going up tho. keep this in mind haha. but it's like eight miles down to the river and three more to get where we needed to go. before you reach the river though, there's a part called "devil's corkscrew" and my dad's knees started hurting, so i was little worried, but we knew we didn't have a super far way to go. and we were doing good on time because we needed to be at the campground by five to get dinner. it was around 11ish at that time, so i wasn't too worried about booking it or anything. however, to get across the river, there's this scary bridge you have to cross and you had to go up a hill to get to it. and going up is super hard. the first switchback made me sit and rest and my dad made me eat since we hadn't been eating a whole lot. i drank a lot of water and we headed off again. now, it was super duper hot which makes sense since this area was called "the furnace." and the ground was sand opposed to rock which we had been walking on for the most part, which slowed you down a whole lot. the sun was beating down on you and after a hot minute (literally) i was in trouble. no joke lol
