"Championship, round six!" The referee shouted as I stood in a small stadium. The rock-paper-scissors tournament was currently happening, and I've made it to round six of eight.

I stared at the tall man in front of me with pure motivation. My eyes beamed as I gazed at him. I must win rock-paper-scissors. I have to redeem myself!

"Ready... Go!" The referee shouted, and I dramatically swung my arm out in front of me, revealing scissors.

"Korudo wins round six!" The referee announced and I grinned. I looked at the man's hand to see paper.

"YEAH! LET'S GO! HAHA LOSER!" I screamed, bragging about my win. The man only scoffed at my childish behavior, and walked off the stage.

"Korudo, maybe tone it down a bit." Gon nervously laughed as he walked up to the stage.

"Why? I'm pumped! I just beat that loser!" I jumped off the stage, and Gon sweatdropped.

"You're really into this, huh?" Killua spoke up as he walked up to the stage for his match against Gon.

"Didn't I already tell you? I must redeem myself!" I dramatically stated, mocking a dark tone. Killua only sighed and shook his head, jumping onto the stage.

"Ready.... Go!" The referee started the match between Gon and Killua. The boys both shot their hands out, and Gon pouted when he saw Killua's hand. Gon had picked rock, and Killua paper.

"Killua wins round seven!" The referee shouted, and Killua just shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Championship Finals, round eight!" The referee announced as Killua and I stood on the stage.

"You ready to get absolutely annihilated, cotton head?" I taunted the boy, and his eyebrow twitched.

"You can't call me cotton head when your hair literally looks like cotton candy." He replied, crossing his arms.

"I'm only stating facts." I replied, and he smirked.

"Well, so am I." He snickered, and I scoffed.

"I'm going to wipe the floor with you!" I pointed at Killua, and he raised a brow.

"You're taking this awfully seriously." He stated, and I smirked.

"You scared I'm going to beat you?" I teased, and the boy tensed.

"What?! No! I'm going to destroy you!" He smirked, and I walked towards him.

"I'd like to see you try, marshmallow boy." I grinned and leaned towards him, holding a tuff of his hair, calling it a marshmallow.

"Tch." Killua looked away with a faint pink on his cheeks. I smirked and took a step back.

"Ready... Go!" The referee started our match, and we quickly shot our arms out. I looked at Killua's hand, and grinned.

"I WIN! YES! YOU SEE THAT, HUH? I WIN!" I screamed as I pointed to our hands. The referee sweatdropped as he slowly nodded, confirming my win.

He looked at me and Killua's hands. I held up scissors, and Killua held out paper. His eyes were wide as he watched me brag.

"WHAT?! YOU PICKED SCISSORS AGAIN?!" He screamed, and I laughed at him.

"YEAH?! AND WHAT ABOUT IT, LOSER?!" I yelled back, and Killua's eye twitched, ready to blow up.

"YOU'VE PICKED SCISSORS FOR EVERY SINGLE ROUND, IDIOT!" He shouted, poking me in the forehead.

"EXACTLY! AND IT WORKED!" I smirked, hitting Killua's hand away. He huffed, accepting his defeat.

"Congratulations. Here is your prize, the Sword of Truth." The referee handed me a card, and I carefully took it. Killua leaned over my shoulder to look at the card.

"Look, Gon. This is card number 83. It goes in a restricted slot." He signalled Gon over as he pointed to the information on the card.

"Okay, that's one down." I mumbled, staring at the card.

"Score!" Gon cheered as he grinned.

"Hey, Gon." I turned to the boy. "Do you want it?" I asked, and he lit up.

"Yes!" He quickly replied, and I held out the card for him, in which he wasted no time grabbing. "Thank you, Korudo!" He exclaimed as he summoned his book.

"What?! Why'd you give it up?!" Killua turned to me in surprise.

"It's boring. I don't understand cards." I bluntly replied, and Killua raised a brow.

"Then why did you want to win so badly?!" He crossed his arms.

"I just wanted to beat everyone's ass in rock-paper-scissors." I shrugged, and Killua sighed, shaking his head. I laughed, and Gon started to thank me again.

"The problem is how do we protect the card?" Gon asked as we walked down the street.

"I'm not sure, we don't have any defensive spell cards. Maybe it was a good idea that Korudo gave the card to you, Gon. If she didn't, she'd have to protect the card, and who knows what she'd do with it." Killua sighed, and I jumped up.

"Hey!" I shouted, and Killua snickered. Gon sweatdropped at his insult towards me.

"Wait, kids!" A man's voice shot through the town, and we turned around.

"H-Hand over the Sword of Truth! Do as I say, and I won't be rough with you." He stuttered, nervously standing in front of us.

"Huh..." I looked at the man with a blank expression. Is he really trying to jump us, or something?

"No way, stupid." Killua replied and we started to walk off.

"W-Wait! Book!" The man exclaimed, and we tensed.

"Book!" Both Gon and Killua shouted, and I only shrugged. We had jumped back, weary of this man. The boys looked at me, as if encouraging me to summon my book. I sighed, but still did nothing.

"Hmph, you're bluffing. I know that you just started this game. You have no defensive spells, and all you would have in your restricted slots is the Sword of Truth." The man smirked and pulled out a card.

"This is Thief! This spell card lets you steal one random card from another player's restricted slots! Take this... Thief on! Attack Go-" The man was cut off by Gon stealing the card out of his hand.

"Haven't you been training at all, Mister? Next time, I won't return your card." Gon smiled as he threw the card back at the man. I stiffled my laughter as the man freaked out.

"That was embarassing, man." I choked on my laughter, and the stranger growled in anger.

"You must be an amateur. I'm impressed you got into a game for Hunters. But that was very educational. An attack spell won't kick in until you finish the chant." Killua stated as Gon walked back over to us.

"Th-That only works against weak players!" The man exclaimed as we started walking away again.

"Precisely." A new voice spoke up as another man, along with many others, turned the corner, their books already summoned.

"Is this a gang, or something?" I raised a brow at the cluster of people threatening us. The leader only ignored me and smirked at us.

"If you want a card, you take it from someone. Only fools would participate in tournaments. Understand, kids?" The leader of the group smirked at us. I sighed, and shoved my hands into my pockets.
